The main venue where the wedding will be held has limited accommodation. You will know if we have reached out to you already to book up those houses and rooms.

If you are not at the main venue, there are other incredible and easy options between 5 and 15 minutes drive away from it.

This is where the magic is happening all weekend and also happens to be an idyllic working vineyard and flower farm. It is a very special place and has been owned by a wonderful family for generations. They have made it into a thriving business but one that has so much character and charm. 

The main Quinta building dates back to 1633 and there are several other buildings and houses to explore from event spaces, cobbled courtyards, to stylish accommodation, wine cellars, and a historic chapel. 

The wedding and other weekend events will take place in various areas of this magical place. Enjoy the wide sweeping views of the vineyards with a glass of their best wine in hand. 

For those staying at the venue (we have  reached out to you already and these rooms are currently all booked!), there are a few individual rooms that feel more like hotel rooms in the converted stable block and the rest are family style houses. The main house on property is where our families are staying and it features a large private pool. There is also a pool for use on grounds for all guests and we have confirmed it will be open (even if it's chilly, you know Mike will be swimming). Reach out to us about staying here and which options would work best for you. We'd like any venue guests to try to stay Friday through Monday but if you can't and are exiting Sunday, we can likely make that work also! 

The happy couple and other friends will be staying in the Vineyard House if you need to find us, which is centrally located on the grounds. 

There is no restaurant onsite but there will be food-centric events throughout the weekend as well as breakfast items delivered to each room/house for Fri/Sat and brunch on the Sunday onsite. There is also a café in town that is walkable if you want any other treats.  

Check in is officially at 4PM so on the Friday feel free to get there between 3-4PM to see if you can get in a bit earlier and have time to get ready for the Welcome BBQ. We apologize for the tight squeeze but the venue has said they'll need time to turn over from other guests and can't guarantee earlier check ins. Check out is 11AM.

We have booked this entire quinta as it's only a short drive from the main venue and is so charming and beautiful. Please prioritize booking here if you can as there are still  rooms to fill.

We will have transportation to get everyone back and forth on the Friday and Saturday all night so it makes for a terrific option for your stay. 

You can reserve directly with them (it will show that it's fully booked on rez apps because we have it blocked off) and choose whatever accommodation type suits you- they have a wide variety of different house types and rooms - there are a few houses that allow for booking as a large groups and more standard rooms for singles/couples. If you are seeing online it's not available it's because we have it totally reserved. You need to reach out directly at the address below to book- just mention our names! Again, if you look online at rez sites, it will show as fully booked because we have all the rooms :). 

What you get: A traditional but stylish haven with over 11 hectares and 4 centuries of history. There is a relaxing pool and spa, a modern restaurant and a sensory footpath as well as numerous other green areas to wander through.

Breakfast is included in all room bookings and you can work with the front desk to organize any spa services as well as bike rentals for the nature trails.

This is a great option for those unable to reserve rooms at Machados, or for folks who simply want a more traditional luxury hotel experience. It's a very well priced hotel for the level of accommodation- it's 5 star and we will put on transportation to this venue on the Friday and Saturday if there ends up being bookings there- so you've nothing to worry about when it comes to enjoying the party!

Note that we currently do not have a room block booked for this hotel being that it's quite large and we have all of Machados booked out already. Please inform us if you have any issues with booking if you choose this beautiful option.

What you get: Set in leafy gardens, the resort is 14 km from nature walks at Tapada Nacional de Mafra. It boasts warmly decorated rooms and suites or airy apartments, townhouses and villas with kitchens. There are 3 upscale restaurants and a bar. Other amenities include a spa, a gym, an 18-hole golf course and 2 tennis courts, plus 2 outdoor pools and an indoor pool.

We have more than enough rooms in the surrounding hotels and prefer you to take advantage of rooms in Machados first since we have it fully booked for the weekend. However, if you are set on dancing to the beat of a different drum, there are many Airbnb and unique hotel options nearby and further afield that you can stay at.

There are some lovely and unique Airbnb options in the area if you want to stay in a windmill or even a bubble cocoon nearby (not sure why that exists but we won't stop you if that is your life dream).

There are a few other quintas 25+ minutes away and many cute guesthouse options near the western coast if you would rather be by the beach and drive to us.

UPDATE! We have booked our Lisbon hotel- you are welcome to also consider staying there or find something nearby!

We will be staying at the H10 Duque de Loulé Hotel from Tuesday April 19th through Friday the 22nd when we will journey to the venue to start the wedding festivities! The H10 hotel is bit further north of the center but still very walkable to all the main sites below and a few blocks from the beautiful Parque Eduardo VII which is a city park and gardens with views of the coast. Another option is Hotel Baixa in the main downtown area right outside of Alfama. It's very central if you want to use that location as a guide of somewhere else to choose. g.page/hoteldabaixa?share 

Another good option that is economical, centrally located but clean/spacious is the Hotel Convento: goo.gl/maps/BnE7dWFT3hAqNCnm8 

If you are staying in Alfama, just be advised not to drive in that area as it's very difficult and know that there are many, many steps to walk up/down to get anywhere!
