Flights

The island's airport is Palma de Mallorca International Airport (PMI). For the best possible airfare prices, we encourage you to book sooner rather than later!

United Airlines offers a direct flight from New York to Mallorca and there are also easy connections through most European cities including Barcelona, Madrid, London and Zurich.

We highly recommend booking your trip all the way through to Palma de Mallorca. Should you book two separate flights - one round trip to a European city of choice, and a second round trip to Mallorca from your point of EU arrival - you will have to exit security, obtain your bags at bag claim and re-enter security. While this option may be more cost effective, please be aware that it is rather time consuming and confusing to manoeuvre. Be mindful of connection times if booking the flights on separate tickets, allowing at least 2+ hours for your connecting flight.

The main carriers that fly to Palma from European cities are:
Iberia / Vueling - www.iberia.com
British Airways - www.britishairways.com
Easyjet - www.easyjet.com
Ryanair - www.ryanair.com
Air Europa - www.aireuropa.com

Hotel Esplendido, Port of Soller (€€€)

This is one of our favourite hotels on the island.

The Espléndido is a vintage 50’s hotel beautifully refurbished for Port Sóller’s 21st century revival. A varied mix of guests come to this 82-room, Swedish-owned favourite; families and couples alike who plum for style over mass tourism. There are two pools, a sauna and hammam, plus an excellent bar and bistro. All the little details are thought out at this cheerful property, and the beach is right across the street. Ask for a room with a view.

Pure Salt, Port of Soller (€€)

Situated at the start of the steep road that leads to the lighthouse, the hotel enjoys prime position in front of sandy Repic Beach and is just a five-minute walk to the main pedestrianised promenade. The modern building has a sophisticated persona with a bright, open plan lobby-cum-cocktail bar, restaurant and lounge zone.
