Our Story
Key People
Bridesmaids
Rachel Weinstein
Rachel Weinstein
Maid of Honor
Let me tell you about my "big" little sister Rachel. Rachel is a force to be reckoned with: brilliant, exuberant, intractable, straight-shooting, and kind to the core, with a generosity of spirit like no other. I call her my "big" sister not only because of her powerhouse presence but also because she is literally five feet eleven inches tall, and she runs a tight ship. My sister is my best friend, and there's no one I'd rather share genes, and jeans, with.
Meredith Mayer
Meredith Mayer
Bridesmaid

We met in Pre-K, and have loved each other truly madly and deeply ever since. Except for Halloween 1997, when I loved Meredith's mermaid costume so much I bought the same one. Curiously, she wasn't as thrilled as I was to be mermaid twins.

Over 26 years we've grown from a tradition of sneaking "midnight snacks" during sleepovers to midnight phone calls, (because Meredith lives in LA now and that's our only window) but otherwise, not much else has changed. We look forward to retiring in the same complex.

Linnea Sage
Linnea Sage
Bridesmaid

We met at Brandeis University when we were both cast in a play called Everything in the Garden. We played housewives who were secretly prostitutes. What better a spark for a lifelong friendship. I've always looked up to Linnea's bold entrepreneurial spirit and sage upperclassman wisdom (after all, Linnea was already the ripe old age of 20 to my 18). Now we both live in NYC, where we do our part to keep all of the sushi restaurants in business.

Erika Raschke Wolek
Erika Raschke Wolek
Bridesmaid

We met studying opera abroad in Florence, when the housing gods put us in the same host house (along with 12 other people- two of whom allegedly lived in the attic and never came downstairs). Our friendship started out innocently enough: doing impressions of our program's most egregious opera divas...and it didn't take long before we realized we were each other's forever people. As we've gotten older, we've realized we have some diva in us after all...and will NEVER miss an opportunity to raid a furrier.

Rachel Weiser
Rachel Weiser
Bridesmaid

Rachel and I were what you would call instant family.  How lucky am I, to have a new older and ‘Weiser’ sister whose funny bone is tickled by everything and whose passion for people and zest for life and adventure is unmatched (well, maybe matched by her brother's). There’s never a dull moment and I’m so grateful for our friendship.

Simon Bogdanowicz (a.k.a. Boogie)

Simon is the human embodiment of the muppet "Animal." If you're looking for him on the dance floor, you'll know him when you see him.
Jonathan Serfaty (a.k.a. Serfaty)
Jonathan Serfaty (a.k.a. Serfaty)
Groomsman
One of Jared's longest friends. They are bonded by the many shenanigans they got into from their fraternity days at the University of Texas at Austin. Serfaty knows many of Jared's darkest secrets and will go to the grave with them (right Serfaty?)
Seth Warshaw (a.k.a. Warshaw)
Seth Warshaw (a.k.a. Warshaw)

Jared interviewed and hired Seth for a job at RBC. Eight years later, Seth is one of Jared's closest friends.
Andrew Wolpert (a.k.a.Wolpy)
Andrew Wolpert (a.k.a.Wolpy)
Groomsman
Jared met 'Wolpy' almost 15 years ago through 'Serfaty.' In those 15 years, 'Wolpy' has changed jobs, gotten married, and started a family. Jared has been there. (Mrs. Wolpert, I want him back!)

Our Favorite NYC Wintery Activities

If you choose to spend the long weekend, here are some of our suggestions for both indoor and outdoor activities in NYC (45 Minutes from the Park Ridge Marriott):

1) See a show!

Top Picks: Jagged Little Pill, Come From Away, Hadestown, To Kill A Mockingbird, Sing Street. These range from excellent drama to purely joyous entertainment...if you have questions Xan and/or Tobi would love nothing more than to guide you!

Insider Tip: Check out the New York Times 'Critic's Pick' theatre shortlist for more suggestions!

2) Go to a museum! Top picks include: The Museum of Natural History (Upper West Side), The Museum of Modern Art (Midtown West), The Metropolitan Museum of ArtThe Guggenheim, and The Jewish Museum (all on the Upper East Side).

3) The Jared and Xan West Village Tour:                           We live in one of the most charming neighborhoods in Manhattan (we're biased, but it's true). The West Village has it all, with its windy cobblestone streets, low rise pre-war brownstones, boutique storefronts, and the waterfront just steps away. If you enjoy bundling up in the cold as much as we do, then you could easily spend a day meandering... Highlights include: Window shopping on the iconic Bleecker street (start @ Hudson & Bleecker) and amazing restaurants (just ask us for our recommendations). If you need a break, stop into the Marlton Hotel and cozy up next to the fire with a hot toddy- a favorite winter tradition- or if live jazz & games is more your speed, check out Fat Cat on Christopher Street! If you're looking for a late-night activity, consider the Comedy Cellar.

4) Shopping. January sales are where it's at (can you guess who wrote this?) If you'd like to explore a brand new underground mall with a design inspired by a giant space ship, The Oculus is a must. It's located under the World Trade Center and has over 100 retail stores and plenty of restaurants.

Local to the Marriott

Shopping: Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ, or Palisades Center in Rockland County, NY

Restaurants: Etsy Street, The Park Steakhouse, and Pesto

There are also options for dining in the Park Ride Marriott! The lounge opens daily at 4pm and stays open past midnight on weekends. There is also breakfast served daily.
