When simple conversations leads to curiosity, bold steps are taken and hopefully the cat won’t get killed; lol. Memorial day weekend 2018, a bold step was taken, flight was booked and London bridge was in sight, the best trip ever. It was a meeting of two strangers after voice and video calls over a period of time which turned out to be a journey of bliss. To break the ice at the airport after a hug, mesmerized by her beauty and radiance Emmanuel couldn’t help but warn Somtochi that he’s about to carry her up and lift her to Jesus, she didn’t see that coming and yes it happened at the airport with eyes gazing upon them. It has being and will remain a smooth journey of laughs, peace and endless joy. we have travelled long and short distances to see each other, we have been there for each other in difficult and happy times though which our bond has grown, we are best friends first before lovers.
Sometime in September 2017, my elder Sister introduced Emmanuel and I with the help of his own Sister. We started communicating from then till around December same year but at a point, we kind of fell out of touch (long story. lol). Around February 2018, I recall sitting down around 3am typing an essay for school and listening to a song that reminded me of him and I said to myself, “let me just email this guy to know how he is doing”. So, I did, and later that day, I embarrassingly told my elder sister that I emailed him, and she goes “hmm E chuwaba gokwa nwoke (I have started chasing man) lol. So, from there we started talking again and this time even more that he asked if he could come pay me a visit in London where I was doing my masters. When he finally came in May, everything was so natural that it seemed like we had known each other for ages. It was all good vibes, great laughs, good connection and healthy interactions and from there, our whole journey began.
I cannot express myself fully in writing because I would rattle with thousands of words and everyone gets bored and stops reading. But what I know for sure is that I have met “my very own”. People always say that in this world “there’s a specific man out there for a specific woman” and yes! they are right because I am a living witness. Years, months and days, gone by and finally we met for good! My heart beat! Emmanuel is a true example of an Icon A man who strives hard each day to be better. One who finds fulfilment in helping others. One who puts the needs of others before his. One who takes it as a job in making others happy. Of all, one who fears God.
He is just an amazing, disciplined, caring, and awesome man, although not perfect, but we all strive each day to attain perfection. His true and unique personality drew me even closer to him. I mean, the very first time we spoke on the phone, I was already comfortable and relaxed talking to him because there wasn’t any bit of shadiness or forming, He spoke Igbo language fluently, listened to everything I said, and made me laugh all through. His lovely, genuine, transparent character kept us as friends for the longest.
He is truly rare and precious, and I thank God Almighty for letting our paths cross. He remains my friend, my best friend, my confidant, my best man, my soul-mate, and my EVERYTHING!!!
My perfect coral, the beauty spot of the jungle, the one whose glance tames the wildest beast, SOMMADIYA. My friends always tell me stories of how they met their wives, knowing at first sight. I always laugh and say “yeah right” but now I will join their ranks. SOMMADIYA if just so wonderful, sweet yet fierce because I remember her telling me “ see this guy, don’t take my gentleness for granted, hurry up with your food lets go into church I don’t want to miss praise and worship” I couldn’t yell oh my God because God will practically say to me “dude haul ass” lol. That’s to say “she lives for Gods glory” I loved that and it was all I needed to open my heart to discover her in all ramifications. She’s kind, lovable, gentle, quiet but vigilant, fragile, humble, intelligent , I can go on. There was a phase of delayed openness ( inside joke) but it speaks of her protective nature and carefulness which tells me my secrets are safe lol. Words can’t express how I feel, she’s just a cynosure for my eyes, the woman of my dreams, my joy, my peace, my HOME.
I literally wanted to blow her off her feet, a proposal that she will always remember so I recruited my friends Frank and Susan and the Operation Skydiving Proposal was in effect ( Indoor Skydiving LOL). Somtochi Miracle and I have always wanted to Skydive so this will definitely be an amazing experience for both of us. She was visiting for Xmas; perfect timing!!! I reached out to IFLY Facility in Paramus New Jersey, told them of my intension and they were very excited and signed up for the clandestine operation to be executed December 25th 2018. You should witness how everyone was whispering and giving hand signs when we arrived from the front desk clerk to the trainers / instructor. It was two flights per individual, and the proposal happened why she was on her second flight “ recall I said I wanted to blow her off her feet” up in the air she was with the flight guide who turned her around towards me through the glass she saw me on my knees with the ring, she was speechless, lost her flight posture and began to decelerate LOL. Gravity in this case air couldn’t hold her up LOL. She nodded “yes” came out of the flight tube, hug, the ring went into her finger and a standing ovation from the crowd. It was just perfectly executed. Mission Accomplished.
