Alex and Aly thought they were being sneaky when they met at Camp Young Judaea and decided to have their first date on a day off at Yama Sushi in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Little did they know, fellow YJ counselors had the same idea, saw them in the restaurant and snapped this photo, which is now officially their first photo together.
Aly knew that Alex was the one when he purchased tickets to see Dead and Company at Fenway Park for their second date, even while recovering from a trampoline-related ankle injury. Aly pushed Alex in a wheelchair around Fenway Park before they found their way to their seats and fell in love to the angelic voice of John Mayer.
After 3 months of knowing each other, Alex asked Aly if he could move to Denver, Colorado with her where she was currently living. Even though the relationship was fresh and Aly had 3 other roommates at the time, she decided it was now or never. Aly and Alex packed up her car, told all their friends and family that Alex was "visiting" for a couple months to see if he liked Denver (sorry, everyone!!), and drove 24 hours from Rochester to Denver to move in together.
Aly was happy to have a full time adventure partner by her side who she could now drag on hikes...
...and Alex was happy to live in a city full of affordable tickets to sports games.
After 9 months of dating, Aly told Alex she wanted to get a Golden Retriever just like her family dog, Zoey. Now that they had moved to their second apartment with only one roommate, she thought it was a perfect time to add a puppy into the mix. Aly and Alex drove 11 hours to Sarcoxie, Missouri, stayed overnight at a very questionable Airbnb, and picked up baby Lucy.
and just like that, Lucy was a part of the family.
Lucy even joined them on their MANY 32 hour trips back and forth to the East Coast.
And boy did Lucy love the East Coast, especially the beaches on Cape Cod.
Back in Denver, Aly and Alex moved into their own apartment (now officially with 0 roommates) and had many visitors.
They traveled around Colorado & beyond...
After 6 years of traveling, laughter, good food & endless memories, Alex asked Aly to marry him on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Now, Alex and Aly begin the next chapter of their love story as Mr. and Mrs. Pavone.
