Driving from NYC/LI - depending on traffic Waze, Google Maps, or the classic Garmin will take you up either I-87 or the Taconic State Parkway. Give yourself some extra time for traffic and expect at least a 3.5 hour drive.

There are Greyhound buses running every 4 hours from Manhattan to Troy with a transfer in Albany to local transit or phone a friend once in the area.
