It all started with a random shopping trip to BJs. Derrick saw Tekeria and waved hello and Tekeria said a brief hey and walked away. But that didn’t deter Derrick from making his move. Derrick decided to open up the lines of communication via twitter where he knew he’d find Tekeria. Derrick began to subtweet with hopes that Tekeria would pick up on his tweets. Once Tekeria took the bait, the conversation was then moved to the DMs. Derrick asked Tekeria out on a few dates. They spent a lot of nights just talking about their love for music. From there their friendship blossomed into the relationship they have today.

On this day, Derrick & Tekeria we’re getting ready to meet with family & friends to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Baileigh. Little did Tekeria know, they would be celebrating more than just the arrival of their little princess! As the baby shower came to an end, Derrick grabbed the mic to thank everyone for coming out and celebrating Baileigh’s arrival. Derrick then turns to Tekeria and tells her to open the gift box on the table. As Tekeria opened the gift box, Derrick got on one knee and asked “Will you marry me?”
