We got engaged in a city that means so much to us - New Orleans! Our relationship began in New Orleans when Amanda moved there to attend Tulane University School of Law. I made the drive from Houston to visit Amanda during her first week of orientation. This technically was only our second date. From there, we had years of exploring the exciting city that is New Orleans together.
Some of our favorite things to do in New Orleans included visiting the beautiful city parks. When I was thinking of how to propose to Amanda, I knew that Audubon Park would be the perfect setting. Amanda worked at a local boutique named Pilot Powell and would occasionally model for the store. After roping in the store owners, photographer, and makeup artist, I created a “fake photoshoot” for Amanda to model. She was totally not expecting that the photoshoot was really the backdrop for my proposal!
While the weather that day may not have complied with my plans, it turned out to be better than I could have imagined and Amanda was completely surprised!
