Sophie and Asher first met while they were both studying at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Asher had just graduated and was backpacking (and couch-surfing) through Europe and Sophie was in her Junior year studying abroad in Barcelona. It was there that they commiserated over similar life experiences and became very close friends.
It wasn't until they both returned stateside that they fostered this friendship into a powerful love. They both fell hard and fast and immediately knew they were meant for each other and nothing would get in their way. They began dating long distance while Sophie was in Madison and Asher was in Chicago and continued when Sophie graduated and got her first job in Milwaukee.
After two long years, Sophie made the move to Chicago, so they could finally be together! They immediately moved in together and, while there were growing pains, they knew this relationship was built to last. While together in Chicago, they enjoyed many date nights and Asher took Sophie to a restaurant he liked named Etta. It was love at first bite for Sophie. Etta quickly became their favorite date night spot and restaurant in the city....
...And along comes Bascom! Bascom is Sophie and Asher's fur baby who is about to turn 2 in November. Becoming parents to this amazing doggo has only fortified Sophie and Asher's love and trust in one another. They learned how great they are at being partners and how both only want to parent with one-another. Safe to say, Bascom is the world's most spoiled pup.
After almost 4 years of dating, Asher and Sophie went on a walk on an unassuming Sunday morning to their favorite park with a beautiful view of Chicago. Sophie saw champagne and two glasses on top of a tablecloth and exclaimed, "Oh my god, someone is getting proposed to". To which Asher responded nervously: "I think that's for us". He then shakily got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him! (She said yes, by the way!)
After the proposal, Asher surprised Sophie by holding their engagement party at Etta with all their close friends and family :)
They are looking forward to celebrating the beginning of their next chapter with you! They are incredibly excited to get married and can't wait to see what the rest of their lives have in store for them!
