How to get to Treviso

Airports

Treviso has its own small airport, Treviso Antonio Canova. There are taxis and Airport shuttle buses (one every 30 mins, travel time to Treviso station 10 mins) that leave from there.

Timetables & Fares: Find the latest information on the MOM website (https://mobilitadimarca.it/en/p/routes-and-timetables/treviso-airbus.

Tickets can be bought from MOM Ticket Offices (at the airport or other locations), MOMUP Smartphone App (search "Treviso Airbus - Touristic tickets").

Another very close ( <45 mins away) airport to fly into is Venice Airport - Venice San Marco (VCE).

This is serviced by major airlines Easyjet, British Airways, WizzAir, Delta, Emirates, but also well connected by internal flights (including connections from international flights)

Both airports have car rental services and their own transport links (shuttle buses).

Step-by-Step Guide to get to Treviso from VCE Airport

The most convenient and cost-effective way to reach Treviso Centrale from Venice Marco Polo Airport is by combining a bus and train journey.

Combined tickets for bus and train are available on www.trenitalia.com/

1. Bus to Mestre Station: Take either of these buses from VCE to Mestre Train Station (Venezia Mestre Stazione):

ACTV line 15 or line 25
ATVO MESTRE EXPRESS service Travel time is about 30-40 minutes. See the following websites for schedules and information:
ACTV: https://actv.avmspa.it/en
ATVO: https://www.atvo.it/

2. Train to Treviso Centrale: At Mestre Station, purchase a train ticket to Treviso Centrale. Trains depart frequently, and the journey takes about 20-30 minutes.

Rail to Treviso from other cities

Treviso is very easy to reach by transport from Venice, Verona, Milan, Florence, and the full Italian rail network.

In Italy trains are mostly very good, quick, and cheap so they can be a great option for affordable and sustainable  travel.

HOW TO GET TO CA' MARCELLO

Public transport / direct shuttle

There is no easy public transport link to the Villa, so we are arranging a direct shuttle service from Treviso to Ca' Marcello for guests without a car.

This shuttle service will run twice - once in the early afternoon to reach the Villa and one last time at the end of the celebration.

The cost of the shuttle is £10 per person and can be paid here via this Monzo link.

Driving

The Villa is easy to reach by car and there is ample parking for drivers.

HAVING AN ITALIAN HOLIDAY - recommendations for itineraries

Veneto

The region where our wedding takes place, Veneto, is home to some of the most gorgeous historic cities and UNESCO sites in Italy.

Veneto stretches from a sandy Adriatic coastline to the East, to the Dolomites Alps in the North, and Lake Garda to the West through the prosecco hills of Treviso and medieval villages of Padua. There is plenty to see and do, and Treviso is in the perfect strategic position to mix sightseeing and culture with beach days, mountain walks, and lake hopping.

Some of our recommended places to visit in Veneto include:

1. Venice (the link is a starter, but we have plenty of recommendations, and will share those too) - nearby: Caorle;
2. Verona & Lake Garda (Sirmione, Peschiera del Garda);
3.  Valdobbiadene, Bassano del Grappa;
3. Valle di Cadore (San Vito, Sottoguda), Lago di Braies;
Este, Arqua’ Petrarca.

We recommend this website to learn more about Veneto on/off the beaten track: https://www.venetoinside.com/en.

We have travelled Veneto extensively and are happy to give recommendations :)

Rest of Italy

If this is your first time ever in Italy or are planning a longer trip, there is so much to see across the country and June is a great time to visit! Our recommendations for the days or weeks before/after our wedding include:

For holidays by the water:

1. The Amalfi coast & Naples (where we got engaged on the 8th of June, 2022)
2. Cinque Terre (near Pisa too, for the leaning tower)
3. Sicily (both Eastern - Siracusa, Noto / and Western - Palermo, Cefalu’ & Trapani)
4. Sardinia (both Southern - Cagliari / Northern - Olbia & Alghero)
5. Lake Como (near Milan)

For foodie regions and relaxed countryside:
1. Tuscany - Siena & Chianti Valley / Pienza & Val D’Orcia
2. Marche
3.Parma region

For something different:
1. Trieste (the gateway to Slovenia)
2. Turin (& Langhe region nearby)

There are also obvious choices in Rome and Florence for history and culture.

June is also Pride month so there will be Pride festivals in all major cities!
