Miami International Airport is only 7 miles or so from the Pérez Art Museum and the three hotels at which we have reserved rooms. In normal traffic the trip from the airport can take as little as 15 minutes. As for getting around, in addition to the rental car center – you take an airport train called the ‘MIA Mover’ to the center – both Uber and Lyft operate in Miami and there are usually taxis at the airport stands.
If you would prefer to reserve your airport rides with a car service, we recommend Aventura Limo at 305-306-5466. On Saturday evening, April 20, we are planning to provide busses to pick up guests at 6pm from Intercontinental Hotel and Marriott Biscayne Bay and bringing guests to The Pérez Art Museum with return service at the end of the evening. There is also paid parking at the museum, which will be available to our guests after 6pm.
April is still in season in Miami and the hotels are generally pretty booked up. There are many good hotels in Miami and Miami Beach; we have reserved blocks of discounted rooms at three hotels that we chose primarily for rate and location, as they are all within 1-2 miles of the Pérez Museum and the rates offered were among the lowest we could negotiate. If you are planning to stay at any of these hotels, you should book your room as soon as you know your plans. The discounted-rate rooms are limited in number and the rates won’t be available after March 20, 2024.
The hotel nearest the Pérez Art Museum is The Gabriel by Hilton; it’s a 5-10 minute walk (0.2 miles). If you want to stay in Miami and prefer a luxury hotel, we recommend the Mandarin Oriental on Brickell Key. If you want to stay in Miami Beach, luxury hotels we can recommend include 1 Hotel, The Edition and, if you want to be closer to Ocean Drive, The Betsy. Both The National (adults only) and the Ritz-Carlton Miami Beach have recently been renovated and might also be worth a try.
