We chose beautiful Ethereal Gardens in North County San Diego as our venue. Ethereal is a gorgeous botanical garden with an ambiance of rustic elegance. We hope you'll enjoy the site as much as we do! 

Given that we know many of our guests may not feel comfortable staying in a hotel, we have chosen to leave the decision of where to stay up to you!

We will have shuttles to and from the venue on Sunday, August 15th leaving from the Hunter household in Del Mar, so we recommend opting to stay in the nearby beachside towns of Del Mar, Solana Beach, or Encinitas.

Ethereal Gardens is located about 15 minutes north of Escondido, so for those who may want to stay closer to the venue, we would recommend lodgings in nearby San Marcos, Vista, or Escondido.

We will have a shuttle leaving from the Hunter family home at 3:15 pm and driving to the Ethereal Gardens venue on the evening of Sunday, the 15th. If you are staying close to Del Mar, we recommend taking the shuttle. It will return back to the Hunter family home after the wedding, arriving around 11 pm.

San Diego's public transportation system is limited in North County, so if you don't choose to drive, we recommend using Uber of Lyft to get around.

If you are planning on using a rideshare to get to the venue, the address is: 8561 W Lilac Rd, Escondido, CA 92026

If you plan on traveling around a larger extent of San Diego, a good option is to use the train and trolley system. The Coaster train will take you up and down the coast, while the Trolley will take you into downtown San Diego. 

San Diego is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in California, and we encourage you to explore them! Some of our personal favorites are the Del Mar Beaches, Fletcher's Cove, Torrey Pines State Beach, and South Carlsbad State Beach. 

Some of our favorite fare in San Diego is Mexican food (try: Nico's Taco Shop, Caliente's, or Roberto's). San Diego is also home to a huge number of excellent breweries. Some of the most famous are Stone, Ballast Point, and AleSmith. 

Both the San Diego Zoo (in Balboa Park) and the Safari Park (in Escondido) are some of the best zoos in the country. Definitely worth checking out if you have the time!

LEGOLAND is a truly unique experience, and is super close to the Cape Rey and Holiday Inn Hotels! Check it out to take in the "Mini Cities," build in the "Imagination Zone," or explore the new "LEGO Movie World"!

There are a number of bustling bar districts in North County. If you are so inclined, we recommend checking out downtown Encinitas and Carlsbad!
