After years of supporting each other through school and starting careers, we finally came to the point of discussing marriage. Nate had waited very impatiently to finish paramedic school and have the money for the perfect ring. Sarah wanted to take a day trip up to New York City, and it became the perfect place to pop the question. Nate arranged everything perfectly, sneaking in Sarah’s best friends on the bus after us and covertly buying VIP tickets to the top of Rockefeller Center. From the time we left for NY to sunset when the plan went in motion, Nate was a nervous wreck, but Sarah didn’t suspect a thing. Finally, just before sunset, the friends hid in the gift shop while we went and took our place. As soon as Sarah realized what was happening, Nate’s speech was drowned by noises of surprise, and as he finally got the question out, her friends burst from the gift shop cheering for us, having recorded everything. It was a moment we’ll always treasure, with a beautiful sunset and friends by our side.
