Sammy and Max both began their journey in 2012 when they met their freshman year of college in Engineering 100 lab. This is where they began as friends and enjoyed making lego cannons in class. As they both continued their rigorous engineering journey in college, their paths began to cross between building 9 and 17 at Cal Poly Pomona.
Their love story later began during spring break of 2014 where Max took Sammy out for coffee. He persisted to invite her out on dates, where Max showed his romantic side and soon Sammy was head over heels for him. Eventually Max asked Sammy to be his girlfriend and the two supported each other through their engineering degrees. Both graduated Cal Poly Pomona June of 2017 with their degrees in Engineering. There was the beginning to the rest of their lives.
Engagement day was a surprising day, as Sammy thought she was going out to breakfast for her best friend's birthday. After an extremely difficult work night (because Sammy worked overnight at this time), she ended up running late to breakfast. She called up her friend only to discover they changed the time so she can be on time. She rushed over to Max's place, got ready and rushed right out the door. At this moment Sammy was just ranting and ranting on how bad her night was. Once the couple reached the Lighthouse Cafe in Newport Beach with friends and family around, Max got down on one knee and asked Sammy to marry him. Everything from Sammy’s previous night became a blur, and to this day she does not remember what happened at work that night. All that mattered to her was that she would soon be marrying her best friend.
Max proposed to Sammy November 25, 2018.
