Welcome to Kiawah Island!

We can't wait for you to join us and experience one of our favorite places in the world.  Kiawah Island is a thirteen square mile barrier island twenty miles from charming Charleston, South Carolina. It's dense maritime forests, beautiful beaches, marshes and wildlife preserves are second to none. There are so many recreational activities that appeal to everyone!

Sam's First Kiawah Adventure

Sam has been coming to Kiawah Island since 2003 and immediately fell in love with the island. Riding bikes, playing tennis, going to the beach and exploring the island in search of loggerhead turtles and alligators quickly became Sam's favorite activities. Sam loved to name all the alligators she found! The ease of navigating the island by bike was very freeing and the ability to jump on her bike and pick up an egg sandwich at the local market each and every morning was very memorable and a special way to start the day!

Alex's First Kiawah Adventure

Alex first experienced Kiawah Island in 2016 and also fell in love at first sight! Since then, Sam and Alex have made sure to find time to relax and enjoy everything Kiawah has to offer.

Did You Say Fried Chicken?

Alex and Sam returned to Kiawah Island quickly after Alex's first trip, for a week of sun, fun and relaxation. On this trip in 2016, we discovered together the miles and miles of biking and trails throughout the island with the most magnificent views of nature and wildlife. It was also on this trip we made our way to Leon's Oyster Shop in Charleston, South Carolina, tried almost everything on the menu and left rather full, knowing we had found our favorite Charleston restaurant!

Alligators and Beautiful Trees

In 2017, we returned to Kiawah Island for another week-long getaway from reality. On this trip, we made sure to explore the nearly 500 year old Angel Oak Tree seen here, bike as much as our legs would allow each day, and find as many alligators on the island as possible!

Derby Falls in Love
In 2020 Derby, the love of both our lives, made her way to Kiawah Island for her first time. They say a picture is worth a thousand words; we think this one proves it true. Derby dog has never been happier, surrounded by her family, one with outdoor living and sunshine, and rather fond of a perfect view.
