The story all begins when Aaliya moved to NYC and auditioned for Exodus Artistry, Rohit's dance company. In the beginning, neither of them thought they would even be friends. However, on Halloween night of 2016, only days after they met, they went out for a Knicks game with a couple of friends. They became friends and started to enjoy each other's company more and more. On December 28, 2016, Rohit asked Aaliya to be his girlfriend. They have been inseparable since.
Day by day, week by week, Rohit and Aaliya grew to love each other. Aaloogobi (Aaliya's instagram name) was shortened to Gobi and Rohit was shortened to Roti. Before they knew it, they became one as #rotigobi. They laughed together, cried together, made stupid mistakes together, and lived their lives together since they started dating. Most importantly, they never missed a moment to dance together.
In May of 2018, Rohit and Aaliya adopted Kobeshwar Maharaj, in short, Kobe. He came into their lives at the perfect time and they thank their lucky stars every day to have such a crazy little fluffball be part of their family. They sometimes are referred to as #rotigobikobe!
Aaliya and Rohit were not only a pair as a relationship, but they also continued to work professionally through dance. In 2017 Rohit accepted an opportunity to become the choreographer of a touring music and dance show, Bollywood Boulevard. Midway through rehearsals he brought on Aaliya as the assistant choreographer. They traveled the US choreographing and dancing to the Bollywood songs they love and grew up with. Bollywood Boulevard premiered at Lincoln Center Out of Doors on August 3, 2018 and continues to tour today!
Rohit asked for Aaliya's hand in marriage from her family in November of 2018. With happy tears in their eyes, they gave their blessing and wished Rohit the best of luck for his proposal! This photo was from that very evening!
On June 15, 2019, Rohit asked Aaliya to marry him at his 5th annual Exodus Artistry recital. She said yes in front of all of their friends, families, and all the students' and their families!
In August 2019, Rohit and Aaliya bought their first apartment in North Bergen, NJ. Now all they have to do is all the wedding planning! They can't wait to focus on making their wedding the most memorable moments of their lives together!

Rohit and Aaliya signed the legal contract to be married. The Nikkah was carried out by Imam Qazi Qayyuum of New York in front of their closest friends and family.
It was the year 2020...
It's only appropriate that because Rohit and Aaliya were having two weddings, they would postpone said weddings not once, but twice! After the world shutdown due to the deadly virus that must not be named, the couple decided that it would be best to postpone all events until the vaccine was available and everyone, especially those that are high risk, was eligible. After waiting for what seemed like eons, they are hopeful that the new dates will stick!
