Mandy is Kelsey's sister-in-law and mom her favorite (and only) nieces. Kelsey has known Mandy since she started dating Joe (Kelsey's brother) in college over 10 years ago. Mandy and Kelsey both live in Bend, OR and get to share weekly dinners, river adventures, and all of the planning!
Katie B. has been Kelsey's bestie since the early days growing up in Sunapee, NH. They shared in tons of adventures - skiing, lake fun, biking trips, camping in the yard, arts and crafts, etc. Katie B. is a creative genius and is the go-to gal for all of Kelsey's embarrassing childhood stories.
Tori and Kelsey met at Wesleyan when she and future wife, Ashleigh, started dating. Tori took Kelsey to her first ever visit to Taco Bell and has a shocking ability to tolerate obscenely spicy food. Alex officiated Ashleigh & Tori's wedding!
Ashleigh was one of Kelsey's first friends at Wesleyan University when they both started as freshmen WeWoHo(es) on the Wes Women's Hockey Team. She is Kelsey's fashion icon and can put on an impressive Rhode Island mom accent.
In December 2020, Alex proposed! While he was supposedly in LA, he asked Kelsey to go pick up a picture frame that he saw was being sold on Facebook marketplace. That being a reasonable request, Kelsey went to a nearby house, left the car running and picked up a picture frame from the porch. Oops, there were supposed to be two picture frames so she knocked on this stranger's door to be greeted by Alex on one knee with roses and tea lights behind him in an adorable house.
To say she was shocked was an understatement...there is such thing as being too surprised. Who's house was this, was this really happening, what did Alex just ask, why isn't he in LA, who's house is this again? It was an Air BnB Alex rented them for the night and Kelsey obviously said yes! Then she found out that the picture frame held the receipt from their first "real" date with the message "This is my Soulmate" on the back, which Alex wrote during the first week they met!
Alex and Kelsey technically didn't meet until October, 2015 but they matched many months earlier on the notoriously classy app, Tinder. Thank goodness Alex has the patience of a Greek God (or something) because Kelsey didn't give him the time of day...or responses...for many months until she said "lets hang out right now!" Still, they didn't meet for another few months. Alex happened to be in Wyoming at the time of that message, indicating to Kelsey that he indeed knew what trees were and could be counted on for adventures. Maybe love could be found in LA?
One day near Christmas, Kelsey surprised Alex with a trip to go truffle hunting (it's an Oregon thing)...
As they were driving to the hunting forest, Alex learned he wouldn't actually be mushroom hunting (much to his dismay). Luckily he was okay with the alternative, which was meeting his future puppy! They got to meet all of the puppies in the litter and one IMMEDIATELY bonded with Alex and they were lucky enough to be assigned this puppy. They didn't technically get to choose the puppy, it was up to the farm owner and her magical crystals and intuition, to match Alex's aura with Fezzik. Clearly there was a spark!
After a world trip, Kelsey and Alex came back and picked the best city to live in - Bend, OR! Despite being homeless initially (living in a tent for a week), they found a nice house to rent that brought them together with a great group of friends, sad vacuuming and all!
Every traditional couple knows you need to buy a house before marriage. Extra bonus if it's under construction for years!
Skip way ahead - the kitchen was finished, the wedding was moved, the idea "maybe we can have a baby before our next wedding date" came true and Mr. Wilder Rospos is now part of the family!
