Milano Malpensa Airport is the closest international airport to Lake Como, located just a 40-minute drive from Cernobbio and the lake. This can be done via rental car, Uber, or taxi. This is the fastest and most direct route.

Alternatively, you can take a train from Milano Malpensa Airport to Lake Como (Como San Giovanni station). However, you’ll need to transfer in central Milan at either Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi stations. This journey takes around 2 hours in total.

If you decide to spend time in Milan, the train ride from Milano Centrale to Lake Como (Como San Giovanni station) is quick, taking just 30–45 minutes, depending on the train you choose.

Milan Linate Airport is the closest regional airport to Lake Como, offering direct flights from cities across Europe. The airport is approximately a 1-hour drive from Cernobbio and Lake Como via rental car, Uber, or taxi.

Alternatively, you can take a train from Milan Linate Airport to Lake Como. First, take a taxi, bus, or tram from Linate to Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi stations, which takes about 20–30 minutes. From there, take a train to Como San Giovanni station, which takes around 30–45 minutes, depending on the train you select.

Enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive from Zurich International Airport to Lake Como, offering breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps and picturesque landscapes along the way. If you fly into Zurich, we highly recommend renting a car and spending a few days embarking on a road trip through Switzerland's stunning countryside. Alternatively, you can take a train from Zurich Airport to Lake Como (Como San Giovanni station). First, you'll need to transfer from Zurich Airport to Zurich Hauptbahnhof (main station), which takes about 10–15 minutes by train. From Zurich Hauptbahnhof, take a direct train to Como San Giovanni, with the entire journey taking 3–4 hours, depending on connections.

Florence's Amerigo Vespucci Airport offers fewer flight options compared to Milan, Zurich, or Rome. However, if you choose to explore Florence before or after the wedding, you can easily reach Lake Como by train.

From Firenze Santa Maria Novella station, take a high-speed train to Milano Centrale, which takes just under 2 hours. Upon arrival at Milano Centrale, transfer to a train heading to Como San Giovanni station, which takes about 40 minutes.

In total, this journey will take approximately 3 hours.

Hotel Borgo Antico is a cozy boutique hotel in Como’s historic center, just a short walk from the lake and the city center. With 27 modern rooms, it provides a welcoming atmosphere and easy access to local attractions and the train station. Nearby restaurants and bars make it a convenient choice. This hotel will be serviced by the Como shuttle stop.

The hotel is 6.7km from our wedding venue, but is located in Como town next to the other Como town hotels (the drive to our venue is longer due to a one-way road).

Uber: Uber is available in Lake Como on a very limited basis. When we were in Lake Como in December, the only option for Uber was Uber Black. We are not sure if Uber X will be available this summer, but it’s safe to assume Uber will be very limited.

Taxis: Local taxis are available in Lake Como. We recommend booking taxis in advance. Hotels can also help you book a taxi, and taxis should be available near the Como train station (Como San Giovanni station).

*If you find a taxi or Uber driver you like, ask for their business card or save their number for future rides. Please note most drivers only take cash (Euros) so please bring enough!*

Ferries and water taxi: You can take public ferry boats from Como town to other towns like Bellagio. The ferries leave from Como town. Water Taxis are also available in Lake Como to travel to other parts of the lake, but they are expensive.

Buses: For the most affordable transportation, there are regular buses on Lake Como that cost no more than a few Euros per ride. Buses connect Como town or Cernobbio with many towns in Lake Como. We recommend the C10 bus, operated by ASF Autolinee, which starts in Como town and has stops in Cernobbio, Moltrasio, Argegno, Tremezzo, Menaggio, Dongo, and ends in Colico.

Car rental: If you choose to rent a car at the airport or in a major city, please note that parking in Lake Como can be difficult. Please reach out to your hotel or accommodation for more information about their parking options.
