Travelling by plane

To Knock airport

Roscommon's closest airport is Knock (approx. 45mins to Roscommon Town). There is one Birmingham - Knock flight every week. Although flights haven't been released yet, it looks as though these will be early Sunday morning (arriving at 9.30am - it might be tight but you'll make the wedding!) to Monday or Tuesday. If you're looking for a one or two day trip, this could be a good option.

Flights to and from East Midlands run more frequently, so are also an option if you wish to travel by plane.

If you travel to Knock, you will need to rent a car or organise a taxi to Roscommon Town.

To Dublin airport

Why not fly to Dublin and get the train or coach to Roscommon? You could even spend a night there before or after the wedding.

The train from Dublin takes around 1 hour 45 minutes. Public transport is very good value in Ireland and the train will even drop you right outside of the Abbey Hotel, which is where we are getting married. Otherwise, you could organise a transfer or rent a car.

Travelling by car/ferry

If you're thinking about spending more than the weekend in Ireland, you might be considering travelling by car. Holyhead to Dublin is a really popular route so runs up to four times a day. At least you have the freedom of your own car for your trip.

Please let Anna or Phil know if you are thinking about travelling by ferry.

The Abbey Hotel

We're getting married here, and if you're arriving by train, you'll get dropped right outside the hotel. Parking is available.

Please ring the Abbey Hotel to reserve your room on

+353 (90) 6626240.

Make sure you quote our wedding*, to get these rates:

Saturday 25th May - €185 per double room

Sunday 26th May - €185 per double room

Monday 27th May - €109 per double room

They will take some credit card details but you won't pay until you checkout of the hotel. Please check your junk for confirmation.

Unfortunately, another wedding has reserved all of the rooms for the Friday 24th May.

If you want to stay at the Abbey Hotel, we recommend you reserve your rooms as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Hannon’s Hotel

Hannon's is a four minute drive from town, but good value for money. Parking is available and you can now reserve your rooms on booking.com.

Coachman's Inn

The Coachman's Inn is a new, boutique hotel in town, which has free parking. It is a four minute drive and 10 minute walk to the Abbey Hotel.

Link to Coachman's Inn.

Gleeson’s Hotel

Gleeson's is right in the centre of town. It is a four minute drive and 10 minute walk from the Abbey Hotel. Please note, they have not yet released rooms for the date of our wedding.

Jackson’s Restaurant & Accommodation

Like Gleeson’s, Jackson’s is in the centre of town, so a four minute drive and 10 minute walk from the Abbey Hotel.  They have not yet released rooms for the date of our wedding.
