LaToya Braxton
Maid of Honor
LaToya and Gabrielle met in the Fall of 2008 while Gabrielle was attending The University of Alabama. Toya worked in the main office of Gabrielle’s apartment complex and played a big role in getting her hired on. With so much in common, it didn’t take long before they were two peas in a pod. So much so, they can go months without communicating and not skip a beat with one another.
Danica Cunningham
Maid of Honor
The Bride’s one and only sister. Though six years apart and complete opposites, they’re extremely close. Danica is bold, outspoken and an awesome cook (everything Gabrielle is currently seeking balance in).
Diamond Brown
Bridesmaid
Diamond and Gabrielle met in the Fall of 2012 at Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. An incredible friendship blossomed between the Alabamian and New Yorker when Gabrielle decided to sit next to “the beautiful, standoffish girl with the attitude.” Come to find out, she’s actually just as beautiful inside.
Alexis Collier
Bridesmaid
The Groom’s younger sister. Alexis and Gabrielle met in April 2013 at a birthday party and immediately hit it off. From the very beginning, she’s been one of the biggest Gab-CP supporters. For this, and so many other reasons, Gabrielle cannot wait to call her sister.
Iesha Ellerbe
Bridesmaid
Iesha and Gabrielle met in Spring 2009 just before pledging Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. They were in line to attend an event and a mutual friend introduced them. They became close during the pledging process and even closer afterwards. Iesha has always been the sister-friend who knows how to keep all her friends close. She makes sure everyone is invited and included (something Gabrielle has always admired).
Shenita Freeney
Bridesmaid
“Cousin” of the Bride. Shenita and Gabrielle were introduced as kids. Shenita’s aunt married Gabrielle’s uncle so they’ve always considered one another family. As a cherry on top, she and Gabrielle also pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. together in 2009.
Marleny Peña
Bridesmaid
Gavin’s godmother. Marleny and Gabrielle met in the Spring of 2013 while Gabrielle was living in Orlando, FL. Gabrielle worked with Marleny’s boyfriend and Marleny randomly gave Gabrielle a ride home one day. What seemingly should have been an awkward ride was the start of a true friendship between two people who are one-in-the-same. Marleny has such a kind and beautiful spirit, and is an “always here whenever you need me” friend.
Kaitlin Walden
Bridesmaid
Kaitlin and Gabrielle met while pledging Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in 2009. After pledging, Gabrielle tagged along with Kaitlin one day on a spur-of-the-moment trip around Tuscaloosa, AL. They quickly bonded and have remained very close. Kaitlin has always been a very honest and supportive sister-friend in all of Gabrielle’s endeavors.
Kayden Cunningham
Flower Girl
Niece of the Bride. Kayden is full of energy, and a dancing machine. She’s Gabrielle’s little, big helper and wants to “help sick people” when she grows up.
Aubree Collier
Flower Girl
Niece of the Groom. Aubree is especially special because she shares a birthday with her Uncle Courtney. She loves bubbles and baby dolls.
Alex Harris
Best Man
Alex and is my cousin/best friend/fraternity brother. Wherever you saw me, you saw him, until he decided to grow up and move to Houston. He’s now in Dallas with his beloved Cowboys.
Tharius Spearman
Best Man
Penny, as we all know him, played a vital role in introducing Gabrielle and I. He is my fraternity brother, and a part of the 7-8-9 crew. He is an Army veteran and a music guru. He left me as well, and has set roots in Florida.
Courtland Pass
Best Man
Courtland is my son, but he’s more like my sidekick. He keeps Gabby and I on the road with all of the sports he’s involved in. When all of the boys are together it can get a little crazy, and she has to remind the two of us who’s the Queen of the house and to not break the Queen’s things. Like we would do such a thing.
Chris Bell
Groomsman
Some people might know him as Chris Bell, but I know him as Lil’ Chris. He was the roommate of my fraternity brother, but he quickly became like a brother to me. He’s the youngest, yet most mature out of my crew. He has been telling me Gabby is going to be my wife since early in our relationship. When I go to Memphis I make sure I give him a call so we can link up.
Louis Conley
Groomsman
Like most of the guys in my wedding party, Louis and I are like brothers, but our brotherhood goes back to the Boys & Girls Club days in good old Tupelo, MS. Lou and I had the opportunity to become Jr. Elks brothers which was an auxiliary group. The majority of my Jr. Elks brothers who attended college went on to become members of the great Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, but he had to go against the grain and become an Alpha.
Frederick Cunningham
Groomsman
The more I get to know Fred, there’s no way you could tell me he and Gabrielle aren’t fraternal twins. They like and dislike the same things, love the same music, they even complete each other’s phrases. When it comes to joking he and I are definitely on the same page. A lot of times I don’t think Gabby is too thrilled about the great times we have because sometimes she’s caught in the crossfire.
Jeremy Davidson
Groomsman
First impressions are everything right? Well my first time seeing Jeremy wasn’t the best. Alex and I were freshman at MSU and we stopped my McDonald’s before a party, and saw a group of guys. Two of which were Jeremy and Alvin. Let’s just say we had bad vibes or something because we gave each other the dirtiest of looks. I thought JD was a jerk after that night. Months later we were reintroduced to each other as candidates for membership as brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. All four of us still laugh about that night at McDonald’s. Side note, JD’s line name turned out to be M.E.A.N. Mug.
Eric Ingram
Groomsman
Eric is my first cousin, and when I tell you every time we get together it’s a great time. I thought I was a laid back guy, but Eric has me beat. We weren’t as close as younger kids, but we’ve had the chance to link up as adults and we’ve created a bond that will last a lifetime. Eric is a true "sneaker head." He inspired me to step my game up. He's probably responsible for hundreds of dollars that I didn’t need to spend.
Alvin Tallie
Groomsman
As I stated in Jeremy’s description, I met Alvin for the first time in a McDonald’s lobby my freshman year of college before a party. Little did I know he would be the Ace of my line, my classmate, and one of the closest friends I have. Tallie has emerged as the BBQ master out of the group. I would put him to work, but I’ll save it for another day.
Gavin Cunningham
Ring Bearer
If I ever forget what “Daddy” sounds like, it won’t be because of Gavin. At any given time he’s either telling on me for picking on him or requesting my services. His personality is almost too big for his little body. Gavin loves to show off his shoes, and likes to pick out his own clothes. He is very fashionable so he’ll probably be feeling himself as he carries the ring down the aisle on our big day.
Cameron Cunningham
Brother #2 of the Bride. Cam is the first Cunningham Courtney met. He brought Gabby to the mall to meet Courtney for the first time and hung around to make sure everything was okay. Like Gabby, Cam enjoys singing. He is also very talented on the piano and drums.
Nathan Cunningham
Brother #4 of the Bride. All the Cunningham kids are comical but Nate is usually causing the most laughter. He's very witty and has his own sense of style, which we love. He plans to own his own clothing line in the future.
Zapheth Cunningham
Brother #5 of the Bride. Zate is the youngest of the Cunningham's. He's in his second year of college and also playing football. He's the one Gavin usually turns to for snacks and video games.
Zachary Cunningham
Brother #3 of the Bride. Zach has been busy playing football ever since Courtney came on the scene. We've watched him transition from playing high school football, to being recruited by Vanderbilt University among other college universities. He's now excelled in his career and is in his second year as a Houston Texan!
