The Proposal...SHE SAID YES!
With the help of our friends, I planned out the proposal. I took Natalie to dinner at the historic Old Ebbit Grill in Washington, DC across from the White House, and not too far from where we first met and surprised her with a group of friends and proposed right before dinner! Thankfully she said YES!!! :)~Will
On April 14, 2010 our friend Maike introduced us to each other at the last Washington Wizards game of the year...so it was a 'blind date' if you will. Will had mentioned to her he wanted to meet a 'nice girl' - enter me :). We may have said 10 words to each other the entire evening...between him watching the game and me talking over him to Maike(he was in the middle) I did not think much would materialize between us, which was ok with me. As fate would have it he asked for my number right before we parted ways. The rest is history!
Natalie moved to the DC area almost 17 years ago from PA with some stops in between to Pittsburgh for a fellowship and to complete her Master in Public Health. In 2006 she put down roots and continued her career in the healthcare field. She currently is a Public Health Analyst for the Federal government working on national HIV/AIDS care and treatment programs as well as promoting women's health and health equity.
Willie hails from Portsmouth, VA located in southeastern,VA. He is a retired Navy veteran who served this country for 20 years. He moved to Silver Spring in 2009 to finish out his military career and continues to serve veterans and their families at the Walter Reed Medical Center.
On this special day in our lives, we lovingly remember Mr. Willie Theodore Wilson Jr., Father of the Groom. We miss and love you and will always hold you dear in our hearts.
