FAQ

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR THE WEDDING WEEKEND?

Our first wedding event kicks off with a Welcome Party on Friday, April 19th at 6pm. The festivities conclude on Monday, April 22nd with a boat party at TBD. If you can swing it, please depart on Tuesday, April 23rd.

WHERE IS EVERYONE STAYING?

We have a block of rooms at the all-inclusive resort, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach and would like for everyone to stay there.

IS THE WEDDING AT THE RESORT?

No, we are getting married at Sunset Monalisa (restaurant) in Cabo San Lucas.

HOW DO I GET TO THE WEDDING?

We will be providing roundtrip transportation for our guests to Sunset Monalisa from the resort.

HOW FAR IS IT FROM THE RESORT TO SUNSET MONALISA?

It's approximately a 25 minute drive.

HOW FAR IS IT FROM THE AIRPORT (SJD) TO THE RESORT?

It’s approximately a 45 minute drive.

CAN I STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE?

Yes you can, but we prefer if everyone stays at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. Also, if you are staying elsewhere you will be responsible for your own transportation to and from Sunset Monalisa.

WILL THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION BE OUTSIDE?

Yes! Our ceremony starts at promptly 5:30 PM before sunset so it will be warm and sunny. We will then head to the cocktail hour followed by the reception, both will be outside. Nighttime temperatures will be around 65 - 75 degrees °F (you got to love Cabo right?)

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE WEDDING?

Sunset Monalisa offers stunning views, effortless elegance, and coastal classic vibes. The attire should match the venue, which is why we are recommending Beach Formal / Dressy Resort / Island Chic.

Don’t worry, we’ll help you define it - dresses (bright colors encouraged!) in just about any length (aside from super-short) for the ladies and suits or a jacket with tie for the gents. Don’t be afraid of bright colors, a tropical print, seersucker or linen!

A light jacket or wrap is a good idea for when the sun sets and the breeze cools. Please no shorts, jeans or flip flops!

WHAT KIND OF SHOES SHOULD I WEAR TO THE WEDDING?

Your dancing shoes! Regarding heels, you may wear whatever kind you'd like. The entire venue is on a hard surface; no grass or sand!

IS THE WEDDING ADULTS ONLY?

Yes, while we love your children so much, due to safety and space restrictions we cannot accommodate children and hope to celebrate with them in the future. The resort is kid friendly; however, the wedding venue (Sunset Monalisa) will be an adult occasion (18+) as it is not kid friendly. The only children who will be attending the ceremony are those who are part of our wedding party.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I CAN’T MAKE IT?

You will be missed! If you can’t make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly. We hope to celebrate with you in the near future!

WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

We do too! We’ve already discussed some options with the Food & Beverage Manager at Sunset Monalisa. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us and let us know.

Things to Do

We’re so excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area with you.

There is PLENTY to do at the resort including many pools, incredible restaurants & bars, beach walks, golf, tennis, pickleball and more. While you are welcome to leave the property to explore Cabo, we promise that if you don't you will have plenty to do!

WHALE WATCHING

Cabo is one of the best Mexican Riviera ports to go whale watching. During the winter months (between December and April), visitors can see humpback whales, gray whales, dolphins, and sea lions in the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean.

In Cabo, you see mainly humpback whales. They’re the most active and fun to watch.

SNORKELING

There are tons of snorkeling boat tours and spots on local beaches where you can rent snorkeling gear. Santa Maria Bay is one of the three best places to snorkel in Cabo. And you might see whales too!

GOLFING

With more than a dozen championship golf courses, Los Cabos is a golf paradise.

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach features Quivira Golf Course. Created as an exclusive amenity for owners and guests of Quivira Los Cabos and Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts and Spas, the award-winning Quivira Golf Club is anchored by a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design course, built on one of the most stunning settings in the world: the tip of the Baja Peninsula.

Its world-class layout offers dazzling views and breathtaking drops from tee to fairway. In a destination revered for its unique ocean-desert-mountain setting, Quivira offers more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean from every hole.

Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf and Tiger Woods have all designed spectacular courses in Cabo. Several consistently rank among the 100 best courses in the world, according to Golf Digest and Golf Magazine. Other golf courses open to the public to play: Puerto Los Cabos, Cabo Real Golf Club, Diamante’s Dunes, Cabo Del Sol Cove Club Golf Course, and Palmilla Golf Club.

HAVE FUN AT MEDANO BEACH

There are many fabulous beaches in Cabo San Lucas, but Medano Beach is the beach in Cabo. Think perfect golden sand, calm water for swimming (it’s one of the few beaches in Los Cabos where you can safely swim), lots of fun water activities like jet skiing and parasailing along with numerous fun bars and restaurants! See our restaurant and bar recommendations.

The bustling main strip of Medano Beach creates the epicenter of this party paradise, filled with excited vacationers, margaritas firmly in hand, taking “that” quintessential photo of Cabo with the Land’s End arch, and searching for their next beach activity. At Medano Beach, you can chill out and relax or choose from infinite water activities like parasailing, jetskiing or even taking a sunset cruise. This is definitely where the action is.

MASSAGES AT THE SAND BAR

Located right on Medano Beach near Mango Deck, Sand Bar offers incredible and affordable ($36!) massages on their outdoor deck with a view of the ocean. It will get busy, so get there and reserve a timeslot before getting drinks at The Office or SUR or swimming in the bay.

CABO ADVENTURES

Looking for an excursion? With Cabo Adventures you can go snorkeling, boating, ATVing, UTVing, ziplining, swimming with dolphins, horseback or camel riding and much more!

Visit The Arch of Cabo San Lucas

If you can’t make the boat on Monday, be sure to check out the famous Arch!

The Arch is one of Cabo San Lucas' most famous landmarks and has been the background of many photo opportunites!

Thousands of years of natural erosion has shaped the Arch into the iconic shape it is today. It marks the point where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.

Pick up a small boat at Medano Beach, or book a tour through Cabo Adventures to get your selfie with Cabo's famous Arch!

The boat on Monday will take us to the Arch!

Dining at Resort

The resort itself boasts some six separate restaurants.

In addition, you have signing privileges and can dine around at its two sister resorts on Medano Beach (Pueblo Bonito Rose and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos), as well as at the Quivira Steakhouse restaurant on the golf course built exclusively for PB owners and guests.

Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach shuttle
The resort runs a free shuttle to its sister properties, Pueblo Bonito Rose and Pueblo Bonito Blanco Los Cabos on Medano Beach. It leaves every hour from Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, and returns every hour from the Rose resort. The ride is about 20 minutes long. You can also take a taxi which is approximately $17.

OUR FAVORITES AT THE RESORTS

LA FRIDA

LaFrida’s unique and inspired approach to gourmet Mexican cuisine has earned the restaurant the highest distinctions for fine dining in Los Cabos, including a AAA Four Diamond Award for excellence in cuisine. Enhancing the flavors are the views; LaFrida’s elegant dining room offers indoor and outdoor seating with spectacular ocean panoramas. To dine at LaFrida, a $30 surcharge per person applies.

QUIVIRA STEAKHOUSE

Quivira Steakhouse is tucked into the breathtaking landscape of the golf course and features mouthwatering deep-fried calamari, luscious creamy pastas, crisp salads; the finest prime cuts and seafood accompanied by fabulous sides and sauces, as well as an international wine selection and hand-crafted cocktails. Indoor and outdoor dining is offered from late afternoon through evening. A surcharge of $35 per person applies when dining at the Steakhouse.

LA NAO

La Nao serves a lavish breakfast buffet and we recommend sitting outside on the freeform terrace with lovely views of the pool and ocean. *We highly recommend their Sunday brunch! * They also have theme nights for dinner.

THE MARKET AT QUIVIRA

The Market at Quivira is said to be inspired by the great food halls of Europe. The open-floor complex features a classic deli, regional Mexican cuisine, eclectic Asian fare, brick-oven pizzas, crepes (sweet or savory), organic salads, fine chocolates, and more. The Market’s 1950’s-style diner serves hamburgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, milk shakes, dessert and scrumptious breakfasts.

THE BISTRO

Open 24 hours, The Bistro offers casual family-style, made-to-order dining with an extensive menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices.

Don’t forget to check out the restaurants at the sister resorts, Pueblo Bonito Blanco Los Cabos and Pueblo Bonito Rose!

CILANTROS at Pueblo Bonito Blanco Los Cabos

We recommend for a beautiful view as you dine along Medano Beach! The beautiful beachfront setting of Cilantro's complements the restaurant's menu of fresh seafood and international delights.

Restaurants & Bars We Love

Food and drinks are included with your stay at Pueblo Bonito (and their food is delicious)…

…but if you are looking to venture outside the resort for a few hours/the day here are a few of our favorites:

THE OFFICE

This bar and grill, located in the sand of Medano Beach, is a rite of passage for cabo tourists. Decked out in beach umbrellas, tiki torches and colorful tablecloths, this is the spot during the day. The food is good and the margs are even better. Our favorite spot, get the steak tacos!

LOS TRES GALLOS

If you're looking for great authentic Mexican food and a beautiful patio...this is your spot! It's an extremely popular restaurant, so make sure to grab a reservation if you're planning on going for dinner one night.

SUR BEACH HOUSE

Super cute spot for a nice, relaxing breakfast/brunch with beautiful views! – more “fancy”; less “casual” spot than the office. Head over to the Sand Bar next door for a massage after brunch!

MI CASA

Is this place touristy? Yes. But is it also exactly what you want when you think of a dinner in Mexico? Absolutely. Mi Casa is a beautiful hacienda-like candlelit patio restaurant with colorful mexican decor everywhere you look. Enjoy the DELICIOUS queso and take in the awesome atmosphere, complete with balloon hats and lots of fun mariachi music, of course.

EDITH’S

Nice for a fancier, date night spot.. lobster, steak etc. If you ask for their cinnamon () drink, they make it in front of you and put on a show with it.

HACIENDA COCINA Y CANTINA

Nestled right above Medano beach, I loved this place for dinner. Great resort-ey ambiance and great Mexican food! Get the carnitas and a spot outside where you can watch the sunset.

EL SQUID ROE

This outrageously iconic Cabo night club and restaurant is a one-of-a-kind. With four stories of open air dance floor, countless throngs of partygoers and waiters armed with jello shots, Squid Roe is loud, wild, and full of energy.

MANGO DECK

With a prime view of The Arch, live music and entertainment, and non-stop margaritas, Mango Deck is a great place to grab a drink and laugh at some ridiculous drunken contests any time of year.

CABO WABO

With live music and entertainment daily the stage at the Cantina has hosted top celebrities and musicians from all over the world.

ROOFTOP 360 AT CORAZON

Perched atop Corazón Cabo on Medano Beach, The Rooftop 360 is officially the highest terrace in Cabo offering an amazing 360-degree view, overlooking both the Sea of Cortez and city skyline. Visit during the day for relaxing poolside drinks, or come at night for a dancing and DJ.

THE GIGGLING MARLIN

Head over to this bar to get hung upside down (like a marlin on the dock) for a free shot and join in beer musical chairs and other games.

SAN JOSE DEL CABO

If you venture to San Jose deal Cabo (45 mins from the resort, near the airport), be sure to check out these spots:

FLORA FARMS: Farm-to-Table

Flora Farms is not just a unique farm, but also home to one of the best restaurants in Cabo. All food served is either grown at the 25-acre farm or sourced from local providers. The delicious dishes include homemade pizzas, pasta, and local meats like pork chops. Besides being a farm-to-table restaurant, this farm also has shops, a bakery, a spa, and other so much more. Be sure to carve out a few hours to enjoy lunch and the other amenities the farm has to offer.

ACRE: Farm-to-Table

Acre is one of the best farm-to-table restaurants in San Jose. All dishes and drinks are made with ingredients from Acre’s 25-acre farm or locally sourced from ranchers and fishermen. Chef Larbi Dahrouch will make sure that all dishes going out are made with love and creativity. Definitely make sure to try some of their signature cocktails, like the Ginger Mezcalita.

These are just a few of our favorites...honestly, there are too many to list. If you are looking for something specific, or want more options, we would love to share them with you!

Do’s and Don’ts in Cabo

DON’T GET HELP FROM THE GUYS INSIDE THE SJD AIRPORT

There is an area before exiting the Los Cabos Airport that has been referred to as “the gauntlet.” After leaving Customs and Immigration you will exit through automatic doors into another room where you will find a swarm of individuals offering to help you.

These individuals will be very helpful and offer to help you find a taxi, shuttle, resorts, tours, carry your luggage, etc. Just smile and keep walking because their goal is to convince you to attend a timeshare presentation. They are a convincing bunch with resort or shuttle names on their shirts, but again, smile and walk, walk, walk until you get outside. The people outside are the legitimate shuttle or hotel representatives. There’s a bar outside in case you want to start the party right upon arrival!

NO NEED TO RENT A CAR

For the most part, if you are staying in Cabo San Lucas, you won’t need a car. The drawback to renting a car is the rental insurance in Mexico can be expensive. Also, we have found that signals and stop signs are more of a suggestion than a rule, so be alert. It is also difficult to find street parking in Cabo. So, we recommend saving your money and taking a taxi or Uber if you are wanting to visit the town. Yes, there are Uber drivers in Cabo and it's safe!

DON’T EXCHANGE MONEY BEFORE ARRIVING IN MEXICO / YOU DON’T NEED MEXICAN CURRENCY

More times than not, you will get a better exchange rate in Mexico. If using your credit card and you don’t have a foreign exchange rate fee, then pay in pesos when possible. Again, this usually results in the best exchange rate.

If you don’t exchange your USD to MXN that is totally fine too! We are staying at an all-inclusive resort so all you will need is a few dollars here and there to tip the workers, and they will happily accept USD. In fact, they prefer USD!

DO TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR PASSPORT ON YOUR PHONE

U.S. citizens traveling between the U.S. and Mexico are required to present a valid passport. We recommend making a photocopy of your passport and/or saving your passport information for use in the unfortunate incident of a lost passport during travel.

DO BE CAREFUL DRINKING WATER IN TOWN

Most of the water and ice in hotels, resorts, and tourist restaurants are safe. Be wary of water and ice when eating at restaurants off the beaten path and stick to bottled water and drinks without ice just to be safe.

DO CHECK BEACH SIGNAGE IF OCEAN IS SWIMMABLE

The resort we have chosen, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, is located on a non-swimmable beach as there is a huge undertow in Cabo. The undertow is so strong, it will suck you right out. Medano Beach is swimmable and very fun with numerous bars and restaurants!

DO VENTURE TO SAN JOSE DEL CABO IF YOU HAVE TIME

Set at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, the area known as "Los Cabos" or simply "Cabo" comprises both San Jose del Cabo — the region's less touristic area, home to large residential developments, schools, and historic buildings — and Cabo San Lucas — the more touristic-centric city.

San Jose deal Cabo is located 20 minutes from the airport and 45 minutes from the resort.

DO RELAX, YOU’RE SAFE

While major crime is uncommon, there is sometimes fraud. When planning a trip to Cabo, make sure you exercise caution when arranging accommodations or excursions that may not have reputable reviews. Be smart and you’ll be just fine.
