Our Story

The story began at the Zumba headquarters back in 2017. Jonathan worked on one side of the building and Marisol on the other, so they didn't really get to see each other often. Marisol did later find out that Jon had seen her first and well, let's just say she peaked his interest. ;) After a few times of him asking Marisol out to lunch, and her finally agreeing (not because she didn't want to, just busy working), they had a wonderful time and after a delicious lunch and great conversation, Marisol knew she wanted to learn more about this amazing man. And so they began their journey getting to know each other, going on dates and enjoying trips together. They decided to move in together during the pandemic and became engaged this past New Year's Eve while on a family weekend cruise. Their love for each other is stronger than ever, and they can't wait to spend the rest of their lives continuing to learn from each other and sharing wonderful adventures!

Our Engagement

This past New Year's Eve 2022, Marisol and Jonathan, along with her family, boarded Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas ship out of Fort Lauderdale. Unbeknownst to Marisol, Jonathan had already shared with her family his plan to propose during the trip. He originally was going to do it on Saturday, December 30th at the Olive 'N Twist bar, however, upon arriving with the entire party, a silent disco was happening so the plan was aboarted. Keep in mind that Marisol had no idea what the plan was so she was just bummed they didn't want to join in during the silent disco. The following night was New Year's Eve and Jonathan suggested to Marisol that the entire family gather together at the same bar to do a toast before the end of year festivities. Marisol was delighted and ready to enjoy the night!

Everyone gathered at the bar, and suddenly the DJ started playing "One Man Band" by Old Dominion. (Marisol and Jonathan are big country fans and this song is one of their favorites). Marisol was surprised that of all the songs the DJ could play, he chose this one. That's when Jonathan stood up and asked Marisol to dance. (They were the only ones on the dance floor). They started dancing and then Marisol realized what was happening and couldn't contain her tears. That's when the DJ handed over a microphone to Jonathan, he got down on one knee, and proposed. It couldn't have been a more perfect moment!!

Marisol later found out that Jonathan had been planning this for weeks with the Cruise Director to have the DJ and song ready for the perfect moment.

Words can't describe the happiness and love that was shared that night, among Marisol and Jonathan, surrounded by their loved ones.
