OUR WALIMA
Walima (Arabic: وليمة walīmah), or otherwise known as the marriage banquet, is the second of the two traditional parts of an Islamic wedding. The walima is performed after the nikah (Arabic: نكاح) or marriage ceremony. The word walima is derived from awlam, meaning to gather or assemble. It designates a feast in Arabic. Walima is used as a symbol to show domestic happiness in the household post-marriage. Thus we have essentially assembled those closest and dearest to us to celebrate this milestone event in both of our lives and we'd be thrilled if you could share this very special day with us!
Whilst the religious ceremony will be conducted separately for family members only, we hope to make the ceremony (walima) a smaller affair to celebrate with our closest friends.
The ceremony will be followed by drinks (non alcoholic), then dinner & of course, dancing!
Smart & Elegant: This is a very special occassion...so dress to impress!
As the ceremony will be taking place outdoors, it will be hot towards the latter part of the afternoon, however, given the location of the venue, you'll be able to catch the breeze from the sea in the evening.
A Buffett style self-service system will be available with a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options.
