Flights

The great thing about The Lazy Olive is that its equidistant from Florence and Rome and relatively easy to get to from the local airports. However, we recommend different airports if you are travelling from different places.

From the USA

If you're flying from Atlanta, Los Angeles and other U.S. cities, you'll arrive at the Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino International Airport, which is large, modern and has excellent access to trains and public transportation. If you want to save time and eliminate layovers, you can catch a daily non-stop flight to Rome from these U.S. cities.

Atlanta
A non-stop flight to Rome from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport takes about 10 hours. Delta operates a number of top-rated daily flights. If you're already a frequent flyer, you can earn points on Air France, KLM and Alitalia code-share flights, which are serviced by Delta as well.

Boston
Travelers from Boston may enjoy an excellent non-stop service to Rome with Alitalia. The eight-hour flight is operated exclusively by Alitalia although they do have a code-sharing agreement with Delta, Air France and KLM.

Chicago
There are three non-stop flights a day from O'Hare International Airport operated by American Airlines, United and Alitalia. Each of these carriers offer code-sharing agreements with other airlines: American have partnered with British Airways, Finnair and Iberia. United is partnered with Lufthansa. While Alitalia provides service for Delta, Air France and KLM. The average flight time from Chicago is just over nine and a half hours.

Los Angeles
Alitalia operates a daily non-stop flight between LAX and Fiumicino International. Customers can also book code-share flights through Delta, Air France and KLM. The flight from Los Angeles to Rome takes nearly 12 hours.

Miami
The flight from Miami to Rome is just under 10 hours. Alitalia provides non-stop service and operates additional direct flights for Delta, Air France and KLM.

New Jersey
If you live in the tri-state area and are traveling to Italy, Newark Liberty International Airport is an excellent starting point. The duration for flights to Rome is just eight hours 40 minutes, and prices are generally competitive. Newark is one of the top three hubs for United. The carrier operates its own non-stop flights and provides code-share service for Lufthansa.

New York
Local travelers who don't want to fly out of Newark can book non-stop flights that leave from JFK International. Delta and Alitalia are two of the largest carriers providing direct flights to Rome in partnership with Air France and KLM. American Airlines provides the same service, which can also be booked through Finnair, British Airways and Iberia.

From the UK/EUROPE

Florence Airport known as Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola. It is well serviced and has flights from London City Airport & London Gatwick Airport. This will only leave you a short stretch to the Province of Siena and is the closest airport to the venue and Siena.

Alternatively Pisa International Airport also know as Galileo Galilei Airport is the best serviced from all major UK airports with extremely competitive flights. *Please note your best option is to rent a car from this airport.

Either way, please check flights online and we are sure you will make the best decision. Visiting Italy at this time of year is stunning! Bon Voyage.

We are offering on-site childcare at the Lazy Olive on Saturday, 26 October 2019 (our wedding day). Small children are of course welcome to accompany our guests at the ceremony, however the reception and dinner will be adults only. We will have 2 nannies on-site at our villa to assist with wedding childcare if this is your preference.

Please contact Liz and Lorenzo directly with any questions about the arrangements. We will work with our planner, Daniella, to ensure you are taken care of that day. If you are staying nearby, she can also provide local childcare suggestions for you.
