FAQs

What to do at Ocean Reef?

The Ocean Reef Club is a vacation oasis with a little something for everyone! A perfect day according to Lauren and Grant includes:

7AM: The lobby at the hotel has a complementary La Colombe coffee station, which is our favorite.

8AM: Take an exercise walk around the reef! Walk through the docks at the ORC Marina, down Ocean Reef Drive. If you want to check out “downtown”, walk down Marina Drive which will bring you to the Fishing Village! Check out the Signature Store if you want to bring home a momento with you.

10AM: Beach time! The hotel you are staying at is right on Buccaneer Beach, which is the place to be during the day. There are plenty of beach activities, including kayaking, paddle boarding, wind surfing, and more. Just ask the beach desk and they will set you up.

12PM: Lunch options include the Palm Court (if you are dressed and want a sit down lunch), or if you want to stay pool side, there is the Grill or the Cantina. We love the Mahi Mahi sandwich and eating them on our beach chairs. Make sure you look out for the rest of our friends!

1PM: For those more activity based, there is a golf range, multiple golf courses, and a tennis center. We have become big fans of pickleball, although we haven’t quite seemed to beat Lauren’s parents yet…

Ask the front desk at the hotel and they will help you get set up with reservations.

4PM: It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, as our neighbor Jimmy Buffet would say. Try a Pina Colada or the world famous Reef Cup (careful, they go down easy and hit you strong)

Fun fact, when my dad sees anyone across the country with an ORC burgee, he always yells “Reef Cup”! Sure as fire way to make new friends.

6PM: Hopefully you’ve rented a golf cart, which is the main form of transportation on the reef. Dinner options include:

- The Islander (right next to the beach, reservation required). We love Chef Eric’s sushi and the hogfish, ORC style.

- Ocean Room (in the lobby of the hotel, reservation required)

- Gianni’s (light Italian in the Fishing Village, reservation required). We love the linguine alle vongole.

- Raw Bar (Fishing Village, no reservation). Casual, fresh fish! We recommend going early to get a seat

- Burgee Bar (Fishing Village, no reservation). Casual, bar food.

For reservations, the front desk will be able to help you!

Per Ocean Reef Club dress code, please review the following link. As a private club, the dress code is enforced and we appreciate you taking it into consideration while packing.

Why Ocean Reef?

Why Ocean Reef?

The Ocean Reef Club holds a special place in Lauren and her family’s heart. Her parental grandparents, Bogie and Grammy, bought their first place in ORC in 1990 so she started coming down to the reef as a baby. The picture here is Lauren as a baby at the Point, the same place where Grant asked her to marry him.

Lauren’s parents, Brad and Madeleine, bought their first place at the Reef in the 2000s and are now snowbirds and have established an amazing community of friends and friends here. It’s a “Unique Way of Life” and a special place to be able to call home.

We are so excited to share this special slice of heaven with our nearest and dearest.
