Our Favorite Places
Things To Do!
The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village:
Total classics!
Dearborn Brewing:
A local microbrewery with great beers and lots of local charm. They also regularly host the Barley Brothers, Dan, and Patrick’s Irish band.
Two Joyce family food favs: The Emhurst and Miller’s Bar
Great burgers, they only take cash though.
The Custard Hut:
They have great custard (Dan prefers custard to ice cream) and you can order it between two Eggo waffles and dipped in chocolate... seriously amazing. Watch out!
Cedarland Restaurant:
They have the best chicken schwarma & lentil soup!
The Hill:
All of your shopping needs in one place. Target, Meijer, Home Depot, DSW, etc.!
Dearborn Coney Island:
A local watering hole. Super cheap diner food, open 24 hours.
Ford Field Park:
It is a beautiful local park that Dan and I regularly run through.
Things To Do!
The Bronx is kind of where our love began and they have THE BEST burger in Detroit. It’s huge and you can get a cheap beer with it.
Shopping:
There are shops in midtown we love, particularly City Bird, Nora, and Nest. The Shinola store is also right across the street.
John K King Used & Rare Books:
It is THE MOST AMAZING BOOKSTORE EVER. Floors upon floors, aisles upon aisles, stacks upon stacks of new and used books.
Masonic Temple:
It is one of our favorite places in detroit and SO beautiful inside. They occasionally offer tours.
The casinos are always open.
