We met at a mutual friend's birthday and for a couple of years, we would run into each other every now and then in Chicago. It was usually just a two word exchange between us, a "hi" and "bye"... little did we know what the future had in store!
The Summer of 2018, we reconnected in Chicago, and again, he basically just said those two words to me... but, thank goodness for FaceBook because someone ended up messaging me on there!
We ended up staying in touch and after a year, we both ended up in Nashville in the Spring of 2019. We had a blast and come that Fall, Kiran moved to Chicago.
Early in our relationship, COVID hit. It was a scary time and we had two choices, quarantine separately or together. We chose the latter and we were inseparable, given we quarantined in a 1-bedroom apartment on the 54th floor of a high-rise in Chicago.
But, you know what they say if you can quarantine together - you can get through anything together...
And we did and we still do!
So after spending EVERY day together in COVID and falling in love, we decided to officially move in together! We moved into our first place together in the Chicago neighborhood of Lakeshore East, we traveled together, and we had our first Christmas together.
Beginning of 2021, we became fur-parents! We adopted Bella, our rambunctious Mini-Goldendoodle. Since then, Bella has continued to keep us on our toes and continues to fill our home with more love than we could have imagined.
The very much-anticipated meeting of the parents happened! Plus a few more family members :-)
It couldn't have gone any better and we're all so excited for the upcoming nuptials to happen!
Kiran surprised me at Chicago's London House! He told me that clients canceled dinner on him so we'd just take the reservation and have a date night.
We arrived and everything was just perfect. He had the venue decorate the cupola with our pictures and rose petals sprinkled on the floor, photographers ready to document everything, and champagne ready for popping! I was truly surprised, especially when we arrived home and there he had another surprise; he booked a private chef to cook us a 5-course dinner at our home!
September 26th will always have a special place in our hearts!
We had an amazing time celebrating our engagement with our families and close friends. We especially loved celebrating our engagement in Italy. We traveled to Rome, Florence, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, and Venice - eating & drinking our way through Northern Italy.
After celebrating our engagement, we quickly focused on planning our upcoming wedding. Along with my mom, we visited several resorts and fell in love with the Royalton Riviera Cancún.
We cannot wait to celebrate this special occasion with all of you in 2024!
