On a brisk California evening and a casual meeting among friends, Greg and Kaeley met for the first time. While Greg wouldn't stop talking about himself for the next few hours, Kaeley was still drawn to his Midwest charm and awful dad jokes. Greg on the other hand immediately realized that he'd be out kicking his coverage so promptly asked Kaeley if he could have her number and take her out on date in the near future. Their first date was amazing and they quickly realized there was a connection and chemistry worth exploring. They continued this connection while Greg was still living in the Bay and Kaeley was in Sacramento. The distance was a small challenge but nothing that could separate these two.
One fateful day in Santa Barbara after consuming 3 bottles of Pinot Kaeley admitted to Greg that she loved him.
About 10 months after meeting Greg relocated back to Sacramento to move in with Kaeley and her dog Ibie.
Their relationship continued to grow and was filled with many trips to all sorts of places. Monterey, Tahoe, Ohio, Santa Barbara, Oregon, and Scottsdale were just a few of the places they explored together.
All of these experiences allowed their relationship to grow, all the while, Greg knew she was the one!
Greg knew Kaeley was the one and he purchased the ring in April of 2019 but the hopeless romantic in him wanted to make the moment special.
In late June of 2019 Greg's entire family rented a house in South Lake Tahoe for a family vacation. On Friday of that week, Kaeley's family came up for the day to meet his family and to spend some time together. This was actually part of Greg's master plan.
For Mother's Day, Greg and his siblings promised their mother a family photo which offered the perfect opportunity to capture this amazing moment.
With both families on the edge of Lake Tahoe taking pictures it was time for Greg and Kaeley to take their photos as a couple. Greg and the photographer suggested that Kaeley pose by looking out over the lake...You know, for one of those thought provoking photos that people take. She had no clue what was about to happen next.
At that moment, Greg got down on one knee and when Kaeley turned around the tears started flowing. The rest is really a blur...Greg assumes he said something sweet and it has yet to be confirmed that Kaeley actually said yes through all of the tears. But none of that mattered, both families were there as she accepted the ring and the celebration began right then and there. Tears were flying, champagne was flying and both families embraced as they realized they would be forever connected!
