How do you know the bride?
I met Joy through her brother. Over the years, she has been more than a sister to me. She continues to be my mentor and listening ears.
My favorite saying of her's is “I’m cleaning out my closet this weekend”
A wish for the bride & groom?
I’m so thrilled and honored to be part of her big day. I wish both her and Eric a lifetime of Love and happiness.
1. How we met and how our relationship developed?
I met Joy and Eric through a mutual friend while on vacation. Joy’s energy is magnetic and we quickly became fast friends. Her joy for life (see what I did there), witty humor and caring spirit shined through and brightened up our time in Mexico. Joy went to great measures to create lasting memories. She even tried to find me a husband while on vacay! I’m proud to know such a phenomenal woman and humbled to call her my friend.
2. Favorite memories and experiences shared together, funny anecdotes or quirky facts.
Dancing to Flavor’s Ashawo at the resort’s nightclub in Cancun. Can’t beat that.
3rd. Well wishes for the couple.
I wish you both abundant love. May your love forever grow. Through the highs and lows of life, may your love for one another remain steadfast and strong. Cheers to my favorite couple on your special day!
How do you know the bride?
I met Joy through a mutual friend. We clicked from the start. Everyone knows that Joy is very candid. So, the getting to know one another was a blast. We skipped the formalities. There was no need to constantly filter and overthink every thought or action. We quickly became friends and soon afterwards and our friendship grew from there.
We can both understand each other’s facial expressions, and when something funny happens, we look at each other and laugh together. We always find the humor in everyday life and love to laugh. I’m talking those deep belly laughs that make your stomach hurt!
A wish for the bride & groom
There is nothing more inspiring in this world than to watch two people find love in each other. Words can’t describe how happy I am that life has brought you two (Joy & Eric) together. I wish you both a lifetime of great fortune and true happiness. As you set out to start a new life of togetherness, I hope you enJOY all of the pleasures that marriage brings and may your lives hereafter be filled with happiness and JOY!
1. How do I know the groom?
We have been tight since day one - Eric is my big brother!
2. Favorite memories together?
There have been so many stories and memories over the years, but my favorite memories have all centered around sitting down, laughing, sharing jokes, meeting one another, being able to openly and honestly express things to one another and just being a family.
3. Well wishes for the couple?
Joy to me is like a sister. And I truly enjoy it when our families come together for a party or an event and we greet each other with hugs, love, and appreciation. I look forward to the day when Eric and Joy exchange vows and become forever united.
How do I know the groom?
I met Eric at an HOA board meeting for our old neighborhood ~ 2005. When setting up the follow-up meeting he mentioned a flag football game he needed to schedule around. I told him to count me in (for the game) and we've been great friends since.
2. Favorite memories together?
I've had some really big times with Eric, and a TON of laughs. Whether it be NASCAR racing at Talladega, Braves baseball, or our own football and softball games we've always kept things moving and fun! If there is an inappropriate joke...you can bet we're ready for it with a retort!
3. Well wishes for the couple?
From the first time I met Joy, I knew that she'd be Coop's wife. Moreover, I knew that she had decided that he would be her husband. A pair in every sense of the word. I'm so happy for you both!
1. How do I know the groom?
We first met when you needed help moving into the building, HEAVY furniture from the garage - great ice-breaker. I figured we were good friends based on that alone. You know who your friends are, based on who is willing to help you move! Ha ha! The second meeting was based on my calling you the wrong name! I called you Scott about 3 times and every time you corrected me politely and said ‘Eric”! LOL! So, that was a crash course of gaining friendship - mandatory to know your friend’s name!
2. Favorite memories together?
I would say there is not enough time! Karaoke party with the Coming to America crew. Me forcing folks to perform an acoustic set…hilarious. Our neighbor Paul singing I will always love you at the party! All of the other episodes with our neighbors! These are the first memories that come to mind, but I am sure there are many better examples.
3. Well wishes for the couple?
Eric and Joy, Donna and I are excited and honored to be a part of your special day. Your presence in our lives in the good and bad have been a blessing. You have demonstrated support, in our ups and downs. I know when I need to complain over a drink, you are a few steps away!! We truly appreciate you as neighbors and friends, but most of all, we appreciate your generosity, genuine care for others. You truly are inspirational people. Continued blessings!
How did I know the groom?
Eric, it is funny how joining us for a movie has turned into a wedding ceremony. I remember that night very clearly when my sister Joy introduced you. I realize now that I actually did say hello and I am glad I did. I think it was because my sister was genuinely happy.
Funny anecdotes?
As you came around the house and at events I would get the questions about it (who is this guy?), and my comments would always be that Joy was happy and that's all that mattered.
Well wishes for the couple?
I wish you both the happiness that has brought you to this point, and that the wings of destiny continue to carry you both as you soar on your joyous journey of marital bliss.
