For those that are only joining for the cruise, the boats will leave at 4:30pm from the Small Boat Harbour. Please make sure you arrive a bit earlier so we can get everyone on board and make the most of the 2 hours!

Our amazing bridal party will be organising an array of booze/snacks for each boat so all you need to do is arrive.

Reminder to please bring cash which will be collected by Charles as you board the boat:

- Adults: ~R500 [TBC]

- Kids: R175

MEET AND GREET

The Quays

The meet and greet will take place on Wednesday evening at The Quays which is right on the canals. Some pizza's, beer and wine will be provided but please feel free to order anything else you want from the lovely staff that will be serving us.

We can't wait to see you there!

DRESS CODE

What to wear?

Casual dress code and sensible shoes as the floor of the outside area at the Quays is sand. Bring a light jumper or jacket as it can get cool in the evening.

GETTING THERE AND BACK

Please arrange your own transport

Please make your own way to the venue and back. There is plenty of parking at the venue if you would like to drive or if you are staying in the canals area you could also walk to the venue.

THE WEDDING DAY

The Ceremony

Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held in the bush surrounding the golf course. Please drive yourselves to the ceremony spot (see below for directions) and park where indicated on the side of the road. As there isn’t a proper car park there, please team up and fill your cars! Extra cars can be parked at the clubhouse where we will be returning to for the afternoon. Please arrive by 3:00pm latest to allow enough time to enter the Links, park and be seated for the ceremony at 3:30pm sharp.

Once we have said our ‘I do’s’ there will be group/family photo’s and a quick drink at the ceremony spot before we move to the clubhouse for afternoon drinks and the reception. Again, we will need you to drive yourselves from the ceremony spot to the clubhouse (2 min drive).

Note: As the ceremony is in the middle of the bush, there are no facilities so please make sure you can last 1 hour! Otherwise, you may need to get yourself acquainted with nature in true African style…

The code for the boom gates within The Links is 94979

Drinks Reception

Following the ceremony there will be drinks and canapes at the clubhouse overlooking the 18th hole (~4:45pm onwards).

Dinner, Speeches & Party

We will head into the reception at around 7:00pm for dinner and speeches.

GETTING TO THE CEREMONY

Cars

Please make your own way to the ceremony spot and then to the clubhouse.

To get to the Ceremony spot:

As you drive through the main gates of The Links, go straight at the round about onto Jack Nicklaus Drive. Continue up a slight hill and turn first right to remain on Jack Nicklaus Drive. There is a boom gate as you turn right which you will need to plug in the code for. Once through the boom gate, continue straight until you hit a T junction (550m). Turn left at the T junction to remain on Jack Nicklaus Drive. About 650m further on this road (once you have turned a bend), you will see signs of where to park for the ceremony (GPS co-ordinates -34.162000, 24.803805).

To get to the Clubhouse:

Backtrack on how you arrived until you are back through the boom gate. Here, instead of turning left to the roundabout and main entrance, turn right and follow the signs to the clubhouse.

GETTING HOME

Shuttle

We will be arranging a 12 pax taxi to shuttle people home during the last few hours of the wedding.

Cars can be left at The Links parking lot overnight.

DRESS CODE

What to wear?

Dress code is smart casual. As the ceremony and drinks reception will be on grass, please make sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Chunky heels and wedges are the best footwear options for ladies.

KIDS

Can we bring them?

We love your kids and are very happy to have them at the ceremony and reception. Please get in touch to let us know if you would like your kids to attend the reception and for more information.

There is a possibility to get a few baby sitters who can be in a room/rooms at the venue during the reception or we can help with finding someone to watch your kids at home.

RECOVERY

Please join us at Coll & Tony’s house in the Links to recount wedding shenanigans and cure the babalas (noun: South African for hangover).

With the right encouragement there may even be a guest performance to serenade us into the afternoon! ;)

We will provide food (BBQ chicken wraps) but please BYO booze.

Note:
- It is a public holiday in SA on Friday 16th December so make sure you stock up on booze before the wedding
- Please use the co-ordinates/link provided in the event overview to get yourself to the house (don't type in 6 St. Andrews Drive on google maps as it is the wrong location!)

DRESS CODE

Colourful pool party wear - bright florals, stripes, party shirts etc.

Please remember to bring your cosi/swimmers and a towel if you fancy a dip! Budgies are encouraged...
