I Knew She Was the One When...

"For me, I had always been interested in Jessica ever since our first duet together at my first Mission Conference at church. When we were practicing and assigning parts for the Young Adult’s performance, I jokingly said that I would take one of the duet parts. Before I realized it, they had assigned Jessica and I to do one part together! As we practiced, I got to know Jessica better and saw just how much cheerfulness she brought to everyone around her. Since then, I've always looked for more chances to hang out with Jessica and get to know her better." – Jason

(We couldn’t find any pictures from Jason's first Mission Conference in 2018, so we put one up from 2020, hehe.)

First Date!
This is us on our first in-person date, after quite a lot of texting and playing pubg during the summer break. We decided to hang out in downtown SF, right after Jessica finished her internship. We walked around Westfield, before deciding to eat Ippudo ramen (one of Jason's favorite food!).

After dinner, we walked to Union Square, where Jason asked Jessica if she wanted to be his girlfriend, and she said yes (making us each other's first bf & gf)! After we prayed together for the beginning of our relationship, we continued enjoying our evening :)

Our First Picture Together

It turns out that before we even started dating, we had already taken our first picture together at Jessica's bachelor graduation! ^o^

Celebrating Jessica's Graduation
This is when we celebrated Jessica’s Master graduation together, where Jason also met Jessica's parents for the first time (after becoming their daughter’s bf :p).

Cooking!
This is when we first cooked together (and almost for the last time xD)..
Hopefully we can cook more delicious and healthy meals together again soon!

P.S.: This photo has been Jason's Whatsapp profile pic since then until now haha

Jason's Haircuts by Jessica

Like many others during covid, Jason & Jessica decided to try cutting their own hair! After a pretty successful 1st haircut (left pic), the 2nd time didn't go so well so we decided to try to make Jason bald for the first time since elementary school (right pic)!

"I kinda regretted the 2nd haircut, but this occasion made me realize that as Jason's hair slowly grew back, my love for him grew too and I liked him even more." - Jessica

May & October 2020

Our (Jessica's) 1st BBall Game
We watched our first basketball game together for Jason's 23rd birthday! The Warriors was going up against the Memphis Grizzlies and we saw one of the most exhilarating game, as each team was going back and forth, before Stephen Curry popped off and won the game for the Warriors!

Of course Jason wrote the previous paragraph, because I don't remember the other team's name (not even during the game) haha.. But it was cute to see Jason explaining about the basketball game so passionately! - Jessica

December 2021
Hawai'i Trip ~(^.^ ~)(~ ^.^)~
We had a chance to go to Hawai'i together with Jessica's siblings (-James +Jeremy). It was an enjoyable vacation, with tons of fun activities. Here is us trying to hold the mountains(?) with the tip of our fingers at a beach in Hawai'i!

January 2022
Anniversary Dinners
On special occasions like Valentine's Day & our monthly anniversary (on the 19th), we always try not to miss our special dinner dates! It's a special time when we also share deep conversations. And most of the time, it's Italian or Japanese food haha

We're planning to continue doing it...forever? :D

Texas Trip!

Jessica joined Jason's family vacation to Texas for the first time (it was so hot!) Jessica was able to get to know about Jason's family more and spend quality time together. One of the highlights was exploring a cave in San Antonio. The cave was beautiful, chilly, and magical - reminding us once again of how amazing God is!

May 2022

First Caricature ^.^

We went to Santa Cruz together for the first time. It was Jessica's first time playing a long mini golf game, and Jason's first time riding a roller coaster in years! Then we randomly got our caricature drawn, and it turned out great! (In this caricature, Jessica looks like her sister though haha)

Introducing Geum :3
In February 2023, we brought Geum into our lives. She is our most beloved Maltipoo who brings a lot of happiness and cuteness. We love her so much!

This is our picture together overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Geum really loves going outside, much more than Jason & Jessica......

Jason's Graduation Celebration

Jason's Master Graduation! Due to covid, Jason was not able to celebrate his bachelor graduation in person, so this graduation was actually the first 'real' one he celebrated with Jessica. Although the ceremony took place five months after his actual graduation date, it was a special day. In Jessica's hand, you can see a melon, which is a reference to Jason's school (Carnegie 'Mellon' University). Jessica likes to do dad jokes sometimes..

We also wore our first couple Batik (Indonesian patterned cloth)!

We're on a Horse!
Jessica enjoys riding a horse as a hobby. So Jason took her out for a horse ride in Chaparral Ranch in Wunderlich Park. We each got to ride a horse and went on a trail together! We enjoyed the scenery for about an hour until our bottoms hurt! lol

July 2023
We Went Flying!

Although our dates are mostly relaxing at home, we also enjoy outdoor adventures! One of Jessica’s bucket list items was to try paragliding, so even though Jason isn’t a big fan of thrills, we jumped on this chance! We loved the experience, though we did get a bit airsick towards the end.
Next on Jessica’s bucket list is sky-diving (good luck to Jason hehe)

The PROPOSAL

After five years of dating, Jason felt it was time to take the next step and propose to Jessica. He first discussed his intentions with his parents, then sought and received permission from Jessica's family, who were thrilled and eagerly anticipating the proposal. Jason chose November 19th, 2023, to coincide with their monthly anniversary for this special moment. He took Jessica to a dinner at a fancy restaurant near his home in Santa Clara. After dinner, he brought her back to his house, where he had transformed the backyard into a romantic setting. The space was adorned with photos capturing their journey over the past 5.5 years. As they reminisced, Jason got down on one knee and asked Jessica to marry him—and although she was nervous, she said yes...

P.S.: Jason planned and organized everything so thoroughly that Jessica was completely surprised and had no clue what was coming.

Our First Korea Trip Together!

After six years together (& Jessica's many solo trips to Korea), Jason and Jessica finally had a chance to visit Korea together! This trip was mainly for taking pre-wedding photos, but here’s a picture of us at Lotte World :D

During this trip, Jason was mostly interested in the various cafes xD

June 2024

Our 6th Anniversary

On our trip to Korea, we got a chance to celebrate our 6th anniversary together. After a long, hot summer day of taking pre-wedding photos, we enjoyed a relaxing and lengthy dinner with plenty of food and drinks :D

P.S.: Thankfully, the waiter offered to take us a nice pic; otherwise we might not have any pics together here haha

Sangjit (Chinese Engagement)

After Korea, we continued our trip to Indonesia. We had the opportunity to conduct Sangjit (traditional Chinese Engangement ceremony) in Malang, Jessica's hometown, alongside our families. It was a new and fascinating experience for us too! Thank God that everything went well :)

Our (Jason's) 1st IU Concert!
As many of you might already know, Jessica is a big fan of IU! So when we knew that IU was coming to the Bay Area for her world tour, she had to go watch the concert with Jason. The concert was great and we had a lot of enjoyable times.

The previous paragraph is definitely written by Jason, as you can see from the lack of enthusiasm hahaha XD This was my 4th concert ever (& 4th IU concert)! When I knew that IU님 was finally coming to the US (& Oakland), I had to be there with Jason (and also my fam & friends who were interested)! With Jason's luck and support, we could get great seats and enjoyed the concert to the fullest! And since this time I didn't go alone, I could enjoy it much more. Thank you & love you, Jason :3
