Tosin and Dapo met at Tosin's local church at the time on August 3rd, 2014. Dapo was visiting from Nigeria on vacation and Tosin had just finished celebrating with her oldest sister on her wedding day. Unknown to Dapo, Tosin had noticed he was a new young face for some time, as she was tasked to reach out and get to know new young folks for the youth ministry. After church that Sunday, Tosin saw that Dapo was still around and went on to approach him. Introductions were made, a conversation was had where Tosin had learned that Dapo was going back to Nigeria that same day. With the knowledge that their time had run out to get to know each other more in person, Dapo kindly asked for Tosin's number in order to keep in touch.
Several months of intriguing conversations and many laughs drew Tosin and Dapo closer together. They began to develop feelings for one another but knew that pursuing a serious relationship at the time wouldn't work because of distance. They decided to remain good friends and Dapo assured Tosin that he would return to the U.S. in a couple of years to continue his education. A couple of years turned to 5 1/2 years and Dapo reached out to let Tosin know that he was finally returning.
It only took a few months after Dapo's return for his relationship with Tosin to morph into more than just a friendship. Dapo knew he wanted Tosin to be his forever, and a year after she agreed to being his girlfriend, he popped the question. This is how he did it... (Next slide)
