When Hillary signed up for a resume review class, she had no idea the biggest change to her resume would be her last name.
They have the Cornell Career Management Center to thank for this wonderful relationship. After her first resume review session, Hillary tried to switch out of Rick's class because she felt he was a "non-serious frat bro", but luckily Cornell would not allow her to switch.
By forcing them to work together, she realized he was a serious-retired-accountant (aka her knight in shining armor) and the rest is history.
What started out as a mentorship, turned into a friendship, evolved into a relationship, and blossomed into a lifelong partnership.

As we are all in unprecedented times, we have adapted to make the most out of this Covid situation. What was supposed to be a ‘traditional’ proposal with beautiful scenery and hidden photographers, turned into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The plan was to propose at the Ocean Course with a bottle of champagne and a fancy dinner, but what ended up happening could not have been further from that. With Covid lockdowns preventing any travel, dining, or even the ability to purchase an engagement ring, this proposal was no longer going to be ‘traditional’.
Unwilling to wait, Rick turned their apartment into a ‘steakhouse’ (complete with Yule Log YouTube video as a fireplace), proposed with a plastic ring from Amazon, and repurposed a home-security camera to capture the moment.
During a time when people were forced to be apart, we all found ways to connect and help each other. Through an absolute stroke of luck, Rick was able to get country music super star Jake Owen to dedicate and sing a song for Hillary to cap off the perfect living-room-fake-ring-YouTube-Yule Log-proposal.
