We met my Freshman year
and as soon as I saw him I knew I was really going to like SLU. That black hair, those brown eyes, those glasses. Features so hard to find in an Indian guy and I finally found one with them all. Naturally, I tried to get Neal's attention so I would buy him lunch, but not wanting to seem desperate, I had to buy the whole group lunch too.
During my sophomore year, I started to make more trips to the library. I knew he spent time in the library (brains and brawn, man what a guy) so I would go as often as I could to get his attention. I would even "lose" my ID near him just to get him to talk to me.
Eventually during my Junior year, we started to spend more time together. I offered my mom's homemade cooking in order to get Neal to come over more often until one day he finally asked me out. It finally happened. Knees weak and palms sweaty I said yes.
Over time, we spent more time apart than with each other, but the love has always been there. June 6th cannot come any quicker!
Our story started when I heard my two favorite words.. “free food.” This Punjabi goddess offered a group of us free treats at ABP. Once I heard those words, I knew I was falling head over heels.
The next year, we started to hang out more at the library. She seemed to live her life as if she’s the lead actress in an Indian tv soap opera. She even watched those same soap opera’s in the library which was kinda weird, but also I kinda liked it
She kept on popping up more and more during my senior year. She was even the ISA show chair that year and for some reason, she kept picking on me. I think it was because of my stellar dance moves. I knew with those looks and that kind of elite power, I had to move quick before she got taken. So I finally mustered up the courage to ask her out.
It's now 2020, a lot of things have changed and I’m definitely a bit broker...but at least i’m rich in love.
