The City of Fountains
Country Club Plaza
If shopping is your jam, the Country Club Plaza is your happy place. This Kansas City classic has been around since 1923 and is the location of the famous Kansas City fountain (the image on the left).
Power & Light District
The Kansas City Power & Light District or P&L is a dining, shopping, and entertainment district in Downtown KC. At the heart of the P&L is Kansas City Live!, a one block area devoted to live music and entertainment venues. At the center of Kansas City Live! is a covered outdoor plaza used for dozens of concerts.
Sporting Events
Kansans (no one cares about the Missouri residents) love their KC sports teams, because they are the best. It's our wedding weekend, don't try to contradict us! Get in a game!
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art has a huge variety of art. Jordan's favorite part of the Nelson-Atkins is the outside of the museum, the lawns surrounding the building has a plethora of great statues.
National WWI Museum and Memorial
If you a are big history buff, the National WWI Museum and Memorial is the spot for you. The National WWI Museum and Memorial is America's official World War I museum.
American Jazz Museum
For music lovers, Kansas City has the American Jazz Museum. The American Jazz Museum showcases the sights and sounds of jazz through interactive exhibits and films.
The College Basketball Experience
Eric's one contribution to the museum category. The College Basketball Experience includes the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. Rock. Chalk. Jayhawk. GO KU!
Joe's Kansas City
You can't visit Kansas City without getting BBQ. Seriously. Joe's is Eric's favorite and Jordan's second favorite (Gates BBQ sauce is the best) Kansas City BBQ. This KC favorite is located on the side of a gas station.
Town Topic
Town Topic is an old school diner. No frills, just burgers, fries and shakes. Best part, it's open 24 hours a day. Perfect spot for late night munchies. You're welcome.
Parlor
Parlor is a three-story food hall. Serving a variety of cuisines from local chefs, so you are sure to be able to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.
Boulevard Brewing Company
Boulevard Brewing Company is one of the largest craft breweries in the U.S. You can take a tour and try some samples, or you can chill out and have a drink in their Beer Hall.
J. Rieger Co.
Another great place for food, fun, and cocktails. This place has a slide INSIDE! It also has a speakeasy, which is pretty cool. Most importantly, Liz Ramirez (one of the bridesmaids) works the bar like a boss.
Tom's Town Distilling Company
If cocktails are more your speed, visit Tom's Town Distilling Company. You can take a tour or try out some of their gin, vodka, or bourbon.
