Our story was not quite love at first sight. Tanzeeb and Dipika first met at Rutgers University in 2011 after joining Greek Life at the same time. They were intertwined in the same circle; but the eventual lovebirds started out as frenemies (you can google it).
Though living separate lives, the two continued to stay friends after college. Even inviting each other to their birthdays - although Dips would often not show up.
After an eventful 2016 Summer they started to become much closer. They began talking every day and found a mutual love for Thai food and Taco Bell, dancing to Bollywood and rapping to Lil Wayne, traveling the world and taking Instagram pics for each other – and most importantly keeping their Snapchat streak alive (RIP).
Ultimately these two fell in love. They gave each other weird nicknames and made up their own crazy way of communicating, in other words made up their own language. Dipika even convinced Tanzeeb to start drinking bubble tea without the bubbles.
After overcoming every major obstacle, there was still one final hurdle. Originally planning to propose during a vacation in Turkey, the start of the pandemic forced Tanzeeb to call an audible. Instead he found a quiet oasis in the center of Philadelphia to get down on one knee and we all know what happened from there.
We are so excited to start this new chapter of our lives and what better way than to ring it in with our closest family and friends. Can’t wait to celebrate!
