How We Met

Ken and I met at a wedding in Oklahoma, of all places. I was friends with the bride and Ken was friends with the groom. During cocktail hour Ken walked by me maybe like 4 times. Every time he would turn back and look at me. After the first one or two times, I met his eyes when he turned back to look at me...he thought he was smooth (spoiler alert...he was. lol). Later that evening we were officially introduced by our mutual good friend. This photo was taken the first night we met. It captures the ease and comfort our first interaction had.

Long Distance Love

We were long-distance for the first year and a half of our relationship. I was never one to talk on the phone much, but this was different. Ken and I would talk on facetime every night for hours! With Ken in Manhattan and me in DC, Amtrak was our new best friend. Even though we were only able to see each other once or twice a month, in a short time it felt like we had known each other for years.

Together Finally

Thankfully, Ken was able to relocate to Virginia. In God's perfect timing, he moved to the DMV just before everything shut down due to Covid. We were finally able to see each other just about every day!

Happily Ever After

On a beautiful fall day, in front of both our families, Ken proposed to me in the best way possible and made me the happiest girl. That smile has been plastered on my face since!
