Travel Notes

The landscape seems to have been painted by a romantic painter: mountains that slide into the lake, now soft and now restless. Woods, small beaches of white pebbles or soft grass, promontories bathed by placid waters.

Stone villages that are postcards from the Middle Ages. Grand Hotel and fairytale villas, with manicured gardens and aristocratic atmospheres from the Belle Epoque. It is the enchantment of Como, a lake that has inspired artists and poets of all ages.

A popular tourist destination for at least two centuries and yet capable of retaining a surprising number of authentic places, tiny villages and valleys to explore by driving along winding roads.

LIKE A LOCAL
A good traveler should not perform affirm, explain, but keep quiet, listen and understand.
(Paul Morand)

And what better way to keep quiet, listen and understand than to rely on someone who lives there in a place?

Explore like a local with our well-trained guide.
Discover places, smell the scents, taste the local delicacies, by following the advice of real locals that know their city inside out!

N.B.: boats must be booked in advance, especially in high season.

We have chosen some tour proposals that are compatible with the time you may have available and the proximity to the hotels where you are staying.

If you arrive days in advance or stay several days, do not hesitate to write to us and we will suggest other experiences that you cannot miss. :)

Payments are by credit card to the agency that follows us.

FLIGHTS

We recommend flying into Milan MXP airport. Many cities offer direct flights!
The other, smaller airport in Milan (LIN) is also an option, but makes it more difficult if you want to take the train to Como (see "Getting to Como").

GETTING TO COMO

Train

If you plan to arrive from elsewhere in Italy or Europe, train is a great option. You can go arrive at "Milano Centrale" station or "Milano Nord Cadorna" station and then catch a connecting train to Como.

Lake Como is on the Milan-to-Switzerland train line.
The train stops in the town of Como, the main town on the lake, where there is a tourist office in Piazza Cavour.

From Malpensa Airport, trains towards Como depart from Terminal 1.
From Linate Airport, trains towards Como depart from Milano Centrale.

For further details about timetables and prices please check the link below : www.thetrainline.com/en-us/train-times

Private Transfer

The quickest and easiest way to get to Lake Como from airports or railway stations is by private transfer.
