Naples Airport (NAP) and Rome Airport (FCO)

Naples Airport (NAP) and Rome Airport (FCO)
Easiest way to Sorrento is to fly into Naples (NAP) Airport. From there you can schedule a private transfer, ferry or train to Sorrento.

From Rome Airport (FCO) you can take the Leonardo DaVinci Express train to the center of Rome. From the center, you can take a fast train (1hr) from Roma Termini Station to Napoli Centrale.

Transfers

Private Transfer

Book your private transfer from the airport, train station to Sorrento. This is the most comfortable way to go. A driver will meet you at the airport or train station platform and drive you to your accommodations in Sorrento. This is the best option if you have a lot of luggage.

Train tickets are best purchased in advance but they do not go on sale until 90 days before departure.

There is a small regional train that goes from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento but is often delayed. Duration ranges between 1-2 hours. You can buy tickets at the train station upon arrival.

Ferry

Ferries are a great way to get around the Amalfi and Sorrento coast. Ferries run frequently from Naples to Sorrento. (50Min)

Buying in advance is not usually necessary. We recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes early to purchase tickets and get to the correct boarding platform.

Airport Bus

Bus

There is a comfortable air conditioned bus that goes from Naples airport to Sorrento Center. Pricing is 10EUR each way. There are many stops along the way, but usually a reliable way to get to and from the airport. Take note the departer area leaving the airport is a 5 min walk from the airport itself.
It is advised to book these tickets in advance and you can purchase tickets directly on their website.

Travel FAQs

Please be sure that your passport is valid for up to 6 months from the time of travel.

Italy's currency is EUR - best to order from cash from your bank at home. Do not bring USD to exchange. Credit cards welcomed in most places, but not all taxi's for example.

Cell Phone: Please contact your carrier for International data and messaging plans. Wifi is widely available.

Electronics: USA-EU plug converters are available in the USA for purchase. Anything that heats up like a curling iron will require a proper convertor. This is not available on site, but you can bring with you. Hair dryers and irons will be available on site at most hotels.
