The proposal, although a shock to Cade, was no surprise to friends and family who knew Ocean Tally would be the perfect spot for Sam to pop the question.
The day unfolded as any other Christmas vacation to the island would, and what was a "cocktail hour" with family friends quickly turned into much more. Sam suggested building a fire by the firepit, when in reality he meant building a life together.
He got down one knee and Cade said yes without question. The rest was history!
Cade and Sam both attended UGA as undergraduates (Go Dawgs!), but did not formally meet until 2016. Though they both remember sparks flying throughout their college years, it was ultimately a chance visit back to Athens that brought them together.
With the two living in Atlanta, a friend named Charlie Matthews went to work. He immediately knew that what they had was special and set the two up for their first date, which ended up in far too many tacos and falling instantly in love.
The islands of the Bahamas have a special place in the couple's heart. Cade's mother, born and raised in Nassau, introduced her father to a not-so-tiny island called Eleuthera more than thirty years ago. From there, they built a life for their children to grow up beachside.
Fast-forward and Sam quickly became accustomed to "island Cade" and loves every second of it.
They've created memories on Whale Point, their home away from home, that will last a lifetime. It is only fitting that they will say their vows in front of their family and friends in their special place!
