Michael: "I decided to shoot my shot on instagram of all places in 2018. It was the new thing that summer, I thought why not. I would say we connected instantly because the banter and conversation flowed perfectly. I was already keen to meet Anthonia after a few weeks of talking."
Anthonia: "Same here, I was in Nigeria on holiday at the time we started talking, so we met up weeks after. When we met, the music playing the background was the talented Nigerian singer-songwriter, Aṣa. Now, I had never known anyone to know Aṣa, not less all of her songs."
Michael & Anthonia: "We bonded immediately, played all her albums at the time and sang the night away.
Michael: "Anime!!..I've always said that my perfect girl will join me in the nerdiest thing I enjoy doing. I recall speaking to my guy Dami Soyoye back then, I told him I met a girl who watches anime and his response was "Marry her!"... and here we are."
Anthonia: "LOL...Ok, apart from that Michael, I think you would agree that we connected on our values, dreams and ideas. One key connection we share is for charity and building a strong lineage. On a lighter note, we share a bond for the aesthetics, we stay bantering on who takes pictures best. We are both creatives I’d say.
What I do love most is we find ourselves saying the same things, at the same time, and then turning to look at each other laughing. We just think the same."
Michael: Agreed, I think anyone who knows me would agree that Anthonia is my lady to the T. Just as God knew me from day one, he made Anthonia just for me."
Anthonia: “Great love stories aren’t without their bumps in the road. We did go our separate ways for a period of time, but I realised how much I loved him (I was literally dreaming about the guy aha). So I messaged him. We basically agreed to meet up & we went walkies (with Louie).. and then on a picnic.. we sort of knew we were exactly where we were meant to be.”
Michael: "I think it's working now because we have both grown up a bit & realised how much we love each other... I believe we first said we love each other shortly after that in an empty car park and just smiled for ages."
Anthonia: "Sounds cliche, but out of every love story, I love ours the best."
Michael: "By God's grace... build a community with our friends, travel, love harder, laugh always and build a generation of super humans... in that order."
Anthonia: "Amen, I definitely agree. We will be the light of world alongside our family and friends. We have a bright future ahead of us, raising leaders of our generation and being the change we wish to see in the world. I imagine sipping pina colada alongside Michael in our old age (and a dog, if he has it his way) and toasting to how far we've come.. in pure contentment."
