Welcome Drinks at the Dornoch Castle Hotel

Please join us for some drinks and nibbles in this beautiful hotel set within a 15th century castle (not to be confused with Dunrobin!) to kick off the weekend in style and meet your fellow guests.

There'll be drinks on arrival, as well as substantial nibbles such as cheese and meat platters, and you may also order pizzas from 7pm - 9pm with the hotel who we're told have recently installed a new pizza oven.  Please ensure you have an up to date RSVP to this evening on our site, so we have an accurate idea of numbers! Thank you

Transportation To The Ceremony

Guests departing from Dornoch
Please be outside the Dornoch Castle Hotel for 12:30 to await your coach.

Guests departing from Golspie
Please be outside the Golspie Inn for 12:45 to await your coach.

Guests departing from Brora
Please be outside the Royal Marine Hotel, Brora, for 12:45 to await your coach.

The Ceremony

Please be seated for the ceremony no later than 1:30pm. Our ceremony will take place inside Dunrobin Castle and will be followed by drinks and canapés on the terrace, weather permitting. You'll be free to explore the Castle's stunning gardens.

Dinner and dancing

You will then be led to a sailcloth marquee next to the sea within the castle grounds for a sumptuous wedding breakfast and dancing 'till late. There'll also be an outdoor fire-pit for some fireside jamming.

Dress Code

Dress to impress! Gents feel free to wear morning suits if you'd like. If you feel good, you look good (so don't forget your dancing shoes!).

Ladies - please consider your feet - there’ll be some time spent outside on grass (although you can avoid this for the most part), and we’ll be ceilidh-dancing later on, so stilettos are not advised, and you may wish to bring a spare pair of flats. Gentlemen - feel free to wear whatever you feel most comfortable and fabulous in, tails, suits, all welcome.

You may need a jacket/coat/shawl if it gets chilly later, but the marquee will have heating. Please note, once we leave the castle you will need to take everything with you to the marquee, where there will be a coat rail.

DEPARTURES

We are laying on a shuttle bus service from outside the marquee to your respective hotels from 11.30pm utnil 2am.

Hangover chill-out and brunch

If you're still around on the Sunday, please join us back at the marquee in the castle grounds for a casual hangover brunch. Sprawl out on an inflatable lounger as you sip a Bloody Mary, have a nibble, play a few games or go for a ramble along Dunrobin's wild stretch of coastline.

Dress Code

Comfy & casual - with festival chic. As we met at a festival, we thought it'd be fun to recreate that atmosphere - think Sunday at Glastonbury (hopefully without the mud). Ladies - flower garlands/crowns strongly encouraged!

Transportation

We are laying on some transport from Dornoch and Golspie to the brunch, if you wish to be on this:

A coach will leave from outside the Dornoch Castle Hotel at 10:30 and again at 11:15

A coach will depart from outside the Golspie Inn at 10:45 and 11:30
