April then obtained her Associates of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care from West Georgia Technical College. In May 2020, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Sociology from The University of West Georgia. April is on her third promotion at Georgia Institute of Technology (7 years) and is now a Senior Administrative Professional in the Dean of Students Office.
April is a proud mother of her two boys, Braylon (13) and Bryce (5). Her favorite color is pink, she loves all things Disney, and her favorite past time is sleeping, relaxing and spa days with her girlfriends.

Born September 3rd, 1988, in Decatur, GA to Mary and Thomas Glover and raised by Harold Goolsby. Michael attended Stevenson high school and graduated in 2006 from Union Grove High in Henry County. He then went on to attend Gordon College where he majored in Business.
Michael's love of music grew more and more starting at the age of 15, where he became known publicly as Mike GZ; a gospel rapper and producer, who toured the country with the 'Extreme Tour' and became a Steeple Awards and Distinguished Gospel Choice Award nominee participant.
You can find his music streaming on all major music platforms as well as view his music videos via YouTube. He now is an entrepreneur, owning his own trucking company as well as being heavily involved with the youth program at his church, Peace Baptist Church where he serves as a youth minister.

Mike and April both attended Allgood Elementary School where Mike's grandmother, Mary Whitley, unknowing to April, taught her,her favorite subject; computers. They both also ended up in the same orchestra as violinists, and later attended the same middle school, Freedom Middle. But, they didn't truly meet until joining the same church. Mike began attending Peace Baptist Church in 1999 and April later joined in 2001. Mike never approached April because he thought she was too bougie and a little stuck up. While attending the church as a teen she brought her best friend Constance to visit, Mike actually had his eyes set on her. He asked Constance for her number, but she quickly shot that down, replying, "How about I let you know on my third visit here," leaving Mike feeling a little deflated.
April, at the time was in another relationship and wasn’t interested. After a year or so, that relationship ended and she asked Mike if he’d escort her to her senior prom. With her parents' permission, He gladly obliged. It wasn't until a trip during spring break to Universal Studios with the youth group at Peace that her interest in him was piqued. She mentioned this to their friend Amber, and Amber spilled the beans. Mike quickly darted his attention April’s way and they spent the entire trip together, hanging out. Being transparent, Mike let it be known to April, that within two weeks time of her asking him to prom up until this point, he had begun talking to a young lady from his school. In Mike’s defense, he only thought April asked him to prom because he had made her parents' approval list. (April swears Mike never notices when someone is intrested in him).
After the trip ended, they both realized they enjoyed spending time with each other. It was at this moment, April knew she had picked the perfect prom date.

When they returned from Universal Studios, the two went on with their lives. Mike continued to peruse what he had started before he left. That weekend, Mike attended a party with some friends and realized that the relationship wasn’t going to work, so he ended things with the young lady from school. A week later Mike called April up and asked her if she was serious about possibly taking their relationship more serious, as his previous situation didn’t work out. April said yes and they became more than friends.
After the prom, they continued dating for more than a year until Mike broke her heart, but not in the way you may think. After they both graduated high school, April began attending University of West Georgia, and Mike went off to Gordon College. At this time, Mike realized a long distance relationship wasn’t something he was really interested in, and they decided to call it quits. Let April tell it, after a couple months, (Mike recalls it was after the first semester) Mike saw the error of his ways and wanted her back, but she turned him down. That’s when the game of relationship tag started.

During their time apart, April married and had 2 children. After 12 years, it wasn’t until April was at her lowest point that she knew she was ready to move on and start a new life. Oddly enough, during this time Mike was the support she needed, but not at first. They began to give the relationship thing another try, but April thought Mike was moving too slow. Mike wanted to give her the time to work on her and mend what was broken. He helped her pick up the pieces, but knew she needed this time to heal. It wasn’t until April’s graduation from West Georgia that Mike officially took her on their first date. He took her to Papadeux in May of 2020 to celebrate her and her accomplishments.
They celebrated her newfound freedom, her current successes and he allowed her to relish in her wins. That’s when he decided he was ready to take another chance. They became official in February 2021, then, a series of 'firsts' began. They went on their first trip to Myrtle Beach for April's Birthday in 2021. Then, Mike took her to Disney World for the first time in June 2022. (Just them two).

April’s POV - It was Michael’s 34th Birthday and strangely enough, he planned it all. A week prior, Mike asked me what I had planned for his special day. I told him I wanted to take him to Fogo de Chao (seeing how neither of us had ever been before) but had yet to make the reservations, being that I was still really sick. He said “No, that’s okay, we can go there anytime. I would like to take you to Capitol Grille. Don’t worry,I got it.” I quickly responded “You sure? Do I need to make the reservation?" He responded, “I got it." Not thinking anything more of it, I just let it go. At this point I had given up trying to figure out when he would actually propose.
Previously, I anticipated it happening my birthday… NOPE! Ok, maybe on our trip to Disney… NOPE! Ok, maybe at a family or friends gathering… but again, NOPE! And it would have been selfish to think he would do it on his birthday. He said it would happen and I just had to wait until the time was right. Secretly, I had already started planning the wedding and at this point, I think people were beginning to think I was crazy; “Why is she doing all this, and she doesn't even have a ring?” So, I put it out of my mind and even started texting my best friends, "I don’t think it’s going to happen yet, maybe the holidays." Then, the jewelry mail started pouring in… and I started snooping (Don’t judge me).
I looked everywhere, but I still came up empty handed. The night of his birthday, we had plans to attend another event then dinner afterwards. Mike had asked me what I was wearing for dinner because he wanted to coordinate, this was strange because he hated just the thought of wearing matching outfits while we were at Disney. After leaving the first event, Mike joked stating, “So what name are you going by, Ms. Simmons now?” I quickly retorted “it doesn’t matter! When are you going to ask me to be Mrs. Glover? What, are you going to wait to the day before the wedding to propose?” We got out the car and went inside for dinner.
The table at the restaurant was decorated beautifully for his birthday. During dinner, Mike kept excusing himself to the restroom and spending a lot of time there. When asked about dessert, I stated that I was "too full and didn’t think I would be getting dessert tonight." On one of his trips to the restroom, I texted my girlfriend, Shawn and said, "I don’t think it's going to happen tonight; we are just eating." She told me to check his pockets, lol. Not even five minutes later, the waiter delivers a dessert plate to the table that read, “Will You Marry Me?” Confused at what was happening, I said, “That doesn’t say Happy Birthday." I looked up to see Mike was already on one knee. He said some stuff, neither of us remember now but I remember hearing him ask “Will you be my wife?” I was in tears and all I could do was shake my head,YES! I looked over at Mike as he retook his seat and noticed that his eyes had gotten a little misty too.
Mike’s POV - April knows that I must be UNPREDICTABLE! I wouldn’t just propose to her at any of those places she mentioned. I told her a while ago to go ahead and start planning and when the time was right, I’d propose. Those places weren’t special enough for me. Unbeknownst to her, the plan was already in motion. I knew, for months now, that I've wanted to propose to her on my birthday, she would never expect it! I started talking to our friends and family as I knew I was ready.
A month before, April and Constance had gone to Kay Jewelers in Perimeter, she sent me multiple pictures of the rings she liked. When she got home, I made up an excuse to leave the house, and told April I had to run an errand and I’d be back. In actuality, I went back to the jewelry store they had just left and purchased the ring. I snuck the ring back home and hid it in the one place she never looked: under my mattress. A week before my birthday, that Sunday after church, I stopped by Capitol Grille and worked out all the details with the lady manager on duty who turned out to be a huge help. She gave me some great pointers and after about 30 minutes the wheels were now in motion.
The night of my birthday, we attended another friends event, afterwards, we headed to dinner. As I made the joke, she referenced, all I could do was laugh as she had no idea what was about to happen. Throughout dinner, I did make frequent restroom visits, at least that is what she thought. I was actually making sure everyone knew their cues all while being reassured by the waitress and Chefs that everything was in place and would be executed in the way we had previously planned. April stated she was, "too full for dessert." Oh but she was getting some dessert tonight whether she wanted it or not! On the last trip to the "restroom," the waitress served the dessert and that’s when I got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with me. Looking confused, she finally realized what was happening and managed to shake her head, YES! I don’t know where she got the part about me being misty eyed… that never happened.
