Why What prompted these two to embark on such a spontaneous encounter that lovely summer night?Tushina’s answer: She needed a break from unpacking her apartment, and she was always down for some good ramen.
Shrey’s answer: She suggested it, and he couldn’t miss the chance to meet this beautiful, albeit a bit intimidating girl.
The first date turned into a second, which turned into a third, and so on--from coffee shop study sessions (Shrey prepping for his Masters degree, Tushina learning cardiology) to weekly dinner dates at local DC restaurants. Shrey was captivated by her charm and contagious smile, while Tushina was drawn to his zest for life and found herself constantly laughing with him.
After some humiliating defeats against Tushina in various board games, Shrey knew he had met someone fantastic who challenged him. He made peace with himself by winning at a game of tennis or out-running her during evening jogs.
They also discovered a mutual love for hiking, vineyards, happy hours that turned into nights dancing, binge-watching thriller shows, and trying new restaurants.
As Shrey and Tushina met one another’s friends and families, their lives continued to meld together. A pandemic hit, but their relationship grew stronger.
On November 7th, 2020, Shrey proposed to Tushina on a stunning fall day at Black Ankle Vineyards.
