Bald Rock National Park
Explore the many walking routes Bald Rock National Park has to offer, whether its tackling the Bald Rock Summit at dawn or the Little Bald Rock walking track during the day.
World War 2 Tank Traps
If you're a history buff, don't miss out on seeing the World War II tank traps up on Mt Lindesay Road. During the war, about 10,000 troops were stationed around Tenterfield and these traps were part of the defensive position established along "The Brisbane Line".
Thunderbolt's Hideout
Thunderbolt’s Hideout is 12 km north of Tenterfield, along the Mount Lindesay Road. The site is signposted, and the hideout is a short 150 metre walk from the road.
The large area between the rocks was used to stable Captain Thunderbolt’s horses and the small shelter under the large rock was a great place to camp. The top of the rock made an ideal lookout, as this was the main road to Warwick during the gold-mining days.
Tenterfield Weather Rock
You'll find us near the weather rock keeping a close eye on it to make sure it's dry for the weekend!
Glenrock Gardens
Pop in to the award winning country garden located just outside of Tenterfield and get lost meandering through the beautiful twists and turns of flowers, trees and plants. Head to the website to check for Open Gardens dates or enquire about booking a private tour.
Golf Club
Tom's Grandfather has a long affiliation with the Tenterfield Golf Club as President from the years... If you don't mind having a swing every now and then, head down and play the front or back nine or relax with a cold beer and enjoy the views from the clubhouse itself. Also an excellent budget accommodation option and previous witness to Timothy Christie's bucks party!
The Potting Shed
Our go-to when in Tenterfield for coffee and a good toastie for breakfast on cold mornings. Also a beautiful gardening shop.
The Corner Life & Style Cafe
A nice cafe for a pretty good coffee, breakfast or lunch. It's hard to leave without buying something from their shop too!
The Courtyard Cafe
Located in the Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts Building, the very spot where Sir Henry Parkes delivered his Federation speech in 1889. After a coffee and cake, take a look at some of the displays that focus on this special part of Australian history.
Our Place
A great espresso and wine bar with a lovely ambience and excellent menu for lunch and dinner. Haven't been here enough times due to our love for the pub but would recommend checking it out!
The Commercial Boutique Hotel
One of our absolute favourites! A safe bet you'll find Tom here the night before... A beautiful warm pub with a lovely beer garden. They tolerated us late into the night when we were celebrating our engagement.
