Rocky Mountain National Park

If you have some spare time, we highly recommend a stop at Rocky Mountain National Park. Don't feel like taking a hike, it's a beautiful drive through the park.

Visit the link below for park information & fees, trail maps, shuttle routes, etc.

Peak to Peak Highway

The Peak to Peak Scenic Byway is one of the most beautiful drives through Colorado, a must-do if you’re visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and the Front Range. This scenic drive is beautiful year-round, but it’s especially popular in the fall, when the mountains burst into life with the shimmering golden leaves of the changing aspen trees. This route is also historically important. It was established in 1918 as Colorado's first and oldest scenic byway.

The Route
The Peak to Peak Highway begins as Colo. 7 in Estes Park brings you past the tiny town of Allenspark on Colo. 72, then heads to Nederland. There, it goes south on Colo. 119 through Blackhawk, into Clear Creek Canyon and ends at Interstate 70.

Trail Ridge Road

Another spectacular drive if you have time. Trail Ridge Road travels through forests, above tree line, over the alpine tundra, reaches the high point, and crosses the Continental Divide before winding its way down to the town of Grand Lake. There are numerous trails, short hikes and scenic pull-off spots. The entire trip crosses about 50 miles of spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery and can take anywhere from 2 hours of non-stop driving to an all day trip with scenic and meal stops.

Just west of the high point is Fall River Pass, elevation 11,796 feet, and the Alpine Visitor Center. Many elk, deer and bighorn sheep move to the high country in the summer and can sometimes be seen from the deck of the Visitor Center. Rest rooms, a restaurant and a gift shop are also located in this area.

Estes Park Tours

Follow local guides to their favorite spots, whether they're leading you on a wildlife photography tour or taking you fly fishing. Join hiking or birding tours inside the national park. Maybe even try an inn-to-inn trek. Drive up Trail Ridge Road in a van or motorcoach as on-board guides explain the various ecosystems, pointing out notable plants and wildlife along the way. Tour Roosevelt National Forest via horseback or from the saddle of an ATV. Whatever your interest, you’re sure to learn something new and have a good time when you book an Estes Park tour!
