Transfer between Athens airport and Vouliagmeni and Glyfada

Taxi
Taxis are located located at Exit 3 of the Arrivals halls, and are available 24 hours a day. The journey from the airport to Vouliagmeni hotels takes 20-30 minutes and costs approximately 30 Euro during the day (05:01 - 23:59) and 40 Euro at night (00:00 - 05:00 am); and around 30 minutes to Glyfada. Please note that most taxis do not take cards (you can withdraw money at the airport).

Bus
Bus X96 departs from the Airport at the Arrivals Level, between Exits 4 and 5. This bus runs all the way from the Eleftherios Venizelou airport to Piraeus, the central port of Athens. It stops in Vari, Glyfada and Voula along the way, just over 1 hour later. The ticket costs 6 Euro.

Transport from the southern suburbs
Tram
T5 (green line) of the tram takes you from the southern suburb of Voula, through Glyfada, along the Athenian coast, and then finally to Syntagma (Constitution) square, in the center of Athens. The trip takes around 50 minutes and costs around 1.40 euros for a single ticket (that lasts around 90 minutes for hopping on and off).

Astir Beach

One of the most impressive locations and beautiful beach in Athens during the summer! It can cost anywhere between 25-70 euros, depending on the day of the week and wether you would like to reserve a sun lounger before hand! Totally worth it and something that shouldn’t be missed!

Vouliagmeni Lake

Visit Vouliagmeni lake, and take a dip in the natural mineral water that is said to have restorative powers and the average temperature is 21°C. It also has a restaurant on site as well as changing rooms.

Acropolis & Acropolis Museum
One of the sights to definitely visit when in Athens!
The Acropolis Museum has a total area of 25,000 square meters, with exhibition space of over 14,000 square meters, ten times more than that of the old museum on the Hill of the Acropolis. The new Museum offers all the amenities expected in an international museum of the 21st century. From Glyfada you can take the green T5 tram line and get off at Leoforos Vouliagmenis which is a short walk to the entrance.

Monastiraki
Under the Acropolis hill, Plaka is an area surrounding the ancient ruins, consisting of many shops and restaurants. One of the most popular places for tourists, with both vintage, tourist shops and the best Greek souvlaki! You can take the green T5 tram line all the way from Glyfada to Syntagma (Constitution square) from where you can walk to Monastiraki in approximately 10-15 minutes.

Athens Sightseeing by Train
If you want to enjoy a sightseeing tour in the historic center of Athens and the capital's most famous ancient sights and monuments, your first choice is the Athens Happy Train.
The Athens Happy Train is a toy-like street train that starts its sightseeing tour from Syntagma (Constitution Square) and follows an amazing route through the historic center of the city, the old neighborhoods and the hill of Acropolis.
The tour lasts around 40 minutes and takes in Athens' most famous sights and monuments including the Hellenic Parliament, the Museum of Cycladic Art, the War Museum, the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Lantern of Diogenes, Plaka, etc.
