Semi-formal
Whilst inside the chapel it will be cooler, we welcome the removal of jackets & rolled-up sleeves at the reception because of the expected summer weather.
Whilst there is shade in the garden, we advise you bring sun protection such as suncream, sunglasses and/or hats.
We kindly ask that flat or wedged shoes are worn to protect the lawn.
We are very happy to welcome babies and children to our wedding. Below is some information for you to help plan your day with us.
You are welcome to make use of the Vintry Gardens before the ceremony. There will be members of staff on site all day should you wish to leave large items or buggies but these will be left at your own risk. Please let us know in advance if you would be interested in doing this so we can inform those who are helping to set up.
Chapel Ceremony
The Cathedral welcomes children at its Sunday services and as such child-friendly games for all ages can be found in barrel bins opposite the high altar.
Please feel free to make use of these. We do ask that you return them after the ceremony and do not take them outside of the Cathedral.
For babies who are tired, fussing, or need feeding during the service, please feel free to make full use of the Vintry Gardens or the Welcome Centre.
Vintry Gardens
A buffet lunch is served and we will happily share with you the exact menu should you wish to know if there will be food for fussy eaters.
We will be providing high chairs only upon request.
Please note there are no facilities to heat or keep cool any milk/formula.
Facilities
The Cathedral has a family-friendly Welcome Centre with baby changing facilities next to the Cathedral.
If you have any questions please get in touch early so we can help you enjoy the day!
Sarah attended Sunday service at the Cathedral when living with Geoff & John and again when Sarah & Geoff bought their first home just 15 minutes up the road. We are pleased to be able to marry in a place that we can see everyday and has meaning to us. Below is some information about the service:
Seating
Two families become one, we ask that you pick a seat, not a side.
The first row is reserved for the bride & grooms immediate family.
Hymns
Regardless of your faith, the best way to spread wedding cheer is to sing loud for all to hear.
Hymns that will be sung are below. You have a beautiful singing voice - we promise. Have a listen if you are unfamiliar:
