Covid Testing Information

We are so excited to welcome you to Des Moines, and in an effort to keep everyone safe from Covid, we will be providing each attendee with one rapid Covid test (administered by medical personnel) before entry to the first event that they attend for the weekend. Upon receiving a negative test, we will provide you with a wristband that you should please wear for the duration of the weekend’s events.

Testing Center at Hilton. We kindly ask that you stop by The Linear Room, located on the second floor of the Hilton Des Moines Downtown, at your convenience before you attend your first weekend event. While testing will also be available at each event, you will need a wristband to access the shuttle to the Rehearsal Dinner. If you are unable to test prior to the arrival of the shuttle, Uber is available and you will have an opportunity to test prior to entry at the venue.

Covid-19 Vaccine Requirement

As our wedding invitations make their way to you, we wanted to share some information regarding Covid-19, and how we plan to keep you safe during our celebrations.

When we chose our newest wedding date of December 18, 2021, we hoped that by this point in time, we would be able to celebrate without precautionary measures in place. Unfortunately, given the recent rise in infection rates as a result of the Delta variant, we feel that we must take certain steps to help ensure the safety of all of our guests and vendors.

First and foremost, we are kindly asking that everyone attending our wedding be vaccinated.  We understand the roll-out of boosters is ongoing, so while we encourage you to have had a booster, we will not require it. We ask only that you have had both of your initial vaccine shots (or one shot in the case of J&J). We sincerely hope you can all respect this request, as we do expect to have both elderly and immunocompromised guests in attendance, and their well-being is paramount. We have postponed our celebrations over the last year in order to ensure the health and safety of our loved ones, so if you do not plan to be vaccinated by December 18, 2021, we kindly ask that you decline the invitation to attend. We respect everyone’s personal choice when it comes to their own vaccination decision, but also ask that you respect our decision to require vaccinations at our wedding events.

Because our wedding will be held in Iowa in December, the weekend’s events will be held indoors. To help reduce risk, all servers and staff at the venues will be wearing masks. Our entire band has been fully vaccinated and/or will receive a negative covid test on the day of the event and will not be required to wear masks when fulfilling their professional responsibilities. We will also provide masks for any guests who feel more comfortable wearing them; however, because all guests will be vaccinated, masks will neither be expected nor required, unless mandated by local regulations.

We think this goes without saying, but we politely ask that you please stay at home if you, or someone in your household, has had a positive test or is displaying any symptoms of Covid in the 10-day period leading up to our wedding, regardless of vaccination status.

Thank you all for your understanding! We look forward to celebrating (safely) with all of you in December!
